Some of you have a strong obsession because the game can be graphically more cartoonish (I’ve only seen a pre-alpha). People, it’s going to be an F2P where a big bunch of young guys are going to try it out, so in this case, that whimsical look is going to make it appealing. We leave realism and history for the majority of elderly people like us (eternal small niche).
just be fine with the art style and not the graph. most of the time it get confused
Of course, the same thing I say…
Yes, it’s like everything… it’s just a matter of getting used to it…
Of course, it is as if you told me that in AoE 3 you can not have asymmetric civs for the issue of gunpowder or that in AoE Online you can not have asymmetric civs for the issue of bronze and iron…
Can’t wait for the game. AoE 4 is a let down.
Yes, AoE 4 could have a little more variety, without having to leave the Middle Ages…
It gave me a sprain in the metacarpal seeing that…
I don’t know, for me it looks good, it would be like a mixture between Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2, a DooM made RTS…
I am not worried at all about the future of AOE4 when Stormgate comes out. AOE4 being a historical RTS is quite different to a Sci-Fi / Fantasy RTS and will always attract other kind of players. Aside from that, the cinematic for Stormgate was underwhelming to say the least, and the screenshots did not get me hyped. Do not get me wrong, I want to be excited for it but what they provided so far was just not good. I see many content creators generating positive hype about this upcoming game, but we have nothing yet, except some good PR talk and advertisement. They seem to have great ideas, and the vision for the game looks good, but that there are former Blizzard devs involved does not guarantee quality. So far there is not a whole lot to go off of.
Stormgate won’t kill Aoe4. Aoe3 DE has way less players than aoe4 but it’s still supported, so that could be an indicator that aoe4 will be the same.
But it could kill the pro scene. If people’s favourite players leave for stormgate that would have an impact on viewership, then prize pools go down and it spirals downward from there. Pros don’t care for things like graphics, setting, historical accuracy so if the gameplay is good pro scene is in trouble.
TBH I’ve thought about how AoE4 would benefit from going F2P. It needs to bring in a lot more people to sustain a recovery. And they’ve already made plenty of money off the initial sales, even tho only 10% of the players were retained.
Of course, it’s another game with another context, I’m going to play Stormgate and that’s not why I’m going to stop playing AoE 4, unless they stop putting content …
Of course, it’s quite a topic…
Well, technically AoE 4 is F2P in the Game pass…
Stormgate sounds to be a massive flop like
Godsworn, The Settlers: New Allies, IMMORTAL: Gates of Pyre and Liquidation
simple games with no souls or substance for PvP, people wont play such things even for free
Yeah, I don’t hold any high hopes for Stormgate. Everything I’ve read and seen about it sounds like a trashfire, I’m not even talking graphics, but designwise.
It feels designed by committee in the worst of ways.
Stormgate seem a way much better than aoe4, coop campaign, army personalised etc…
Plus from what i have heard, the game seem very good to play, based on somes alpha test.
In the beta of that game we will see how the game unfolds.
The mission is to focus on continuing to add, in AoE4, everything that could be missing and that other AoE games had.
I think you have not read the thread, if it is like estarcraft2 where the main ability to win is fast fingers, it may not be to everyone’s taste
All I see is a video presentation, 0 game play, lol
