Which civs would you like to see added first in DLC?

This game should only have one Iberian with how few and distinct civs are. Castile or a catch-all “Spain” is the only one that makes sense, for relevance and popularity. Every other civ I mentioned before should have higher priority than Iberia #2, even Vikings or Gaels.

Portugal is not part of the “ALL Catch” Spain and it is offensive to consider it so.

By your logic since we have the chinese we dont need any more Asian civs.
That’s how you sound.

You want relevant empires then the First Global Empire fits the bill. Seems relevant enough.

As long as you don’t start on marketing, fake history and pandas, alright.
(Have some bad memories 'round here 'bout that)

These European choices are quite horrible. The Gaels would only be relevant within the context of England and England is only relevant within the context of France at this point in history.

Why do we need the “Norse” we already have the English which represent them about as well as could be expected.

They should just make the Rus speak Old Norse in the Dark Age and tell the Vikingboos that they already have their civ. Vikings only fit in age 1-2 at most, and Rus are by far the most interesting viking-founded state that survived after that. Who wants to play 13th century Scandinavians?

Considering the number of AOE2 players that love vikings set in the same era as AOE4, I would say a lot.

Hum, Medieval england is far different from the Danes, the Svedes and the Norwegians, even if there was the Danelaw…

Mayans for life. If you think other wise ya wrong! haha

Yeah… they also claimed that the Teutons where “super soldiers” and that they basically stopped the Mongolian advance into Europe.

Even though the Teutons lost vs them when they where in Hungary. I mean I love the Teutonic Order but I am not gonna let false info go just because it makes my favorite faction look cool.

Byzantines/Turks- beginning from Seljuks ( 1071 with Manzikert against Byzantine Empire and Anatolian chapter beginning) and the whole Turkic Anatolian ‘beyliks’ after Kosedağ (1243 - against Mongols), Rise of Ottomans (1299-1453), Expansion of Balkans and Fall of Constantinople(1453) would be a great story line, including naval warfare for Mediterranean control.

I really hope that we’ll have less arabic-influenced Turkic civilization than of AoEII however. From the music to architecture, it never felt a proper Turkic representation -Cumans feeling more authentic in this manner.

I would like to see in the game:

Byzantines
Turks
Saracens
Moors
Spanish
Vikings
Italians (Venice, Genova, etc)

Defiantly Japan, but then surely you have to have Korea didn’t they have a few punch ups?

Since the time frame is until 1600s, I would think that Japan has kind of choosing clan with buff, same as chinese dynasty mechanism, but choosing to pick up one as time progressed would evolve their gameplay.

If we put Japan in the same time as England in 900 - 1100, japan on first age would have a notable mounted samurai armed with sword and bow, not too strong at first but gained buff depend on progress and decision on age up. Like English that got vanguard man at arms early on, the mounted samurai should be not too strong and have weak attack.

When it moves to Age II, it should reflect Japan enduring Mongol invasion and built more resilient castle, so having playstyle shifted to defensive mechanism would be great. It was also around this time the cadet branches of governing clan like Minamoto and Ashikaga divided into smaller clans and each fortifying their respective territories.

Moving on Age III, it could change into the style that reflects the Onin War and Sengoku era where mass infantry are shining in battlefield and more new technologies introduced.
They could get westernization from one landmark or stay traditional and have more resilient unique units or buildings due to more frequent use of arquebus and castle fortifications became increasingly more efficient around this time.
We could choose one landmark to represent the Ashikaga or the Oda to put this idea.

On late 1500s to 1600s, on Age IV, they could get option to further focused on military for expansion, hinting at Hideyoshi’s aim to reach Ming via Korea, or be isolated and have more defense mechanism perhaps, hinting at Tokugawa Ieyasu’s effort to safeguard the country. Well, this is only my opinion though, I’m sure everyone got even more interesting ideas

Should Kalmar Union be included?

A new poll needs to be done with proper options.

Completely ignores Iberia, but you got mississipians…

I passionately agree, it’s very urgent.

There’s no Ottoman Empire, no Iberia, it’s lacking some most requested civs by the Age of Empires community.

Isn’t Kalmar Union included in Vikings?

Arguably, but more in the same way that gemany is included in the HRE. It’s the same peoples but different religion and time frame.
