Idk bruh maybe some without any exploits or bugs?
Report it. I did.
It’s a terrible list, it baffles me it was pinned.
The only option for southwest europe is moors which is north africa. That alone speaks volumes of the OP bias doing the list.
Ignores several important empires that fits the timeline for 7 african civs, a few of them that make no sense.
Spanish, Vikings, Japanese, Aztecs, Inca, Persians, Byzantines, Portuguese, Ottomans, Saracens. The game needs an additional dozen or more good civs, as well as maps.
Add the Spanish, Vikings, Japanese, Aztecs, Saracens and Portuguese and that’s a pretty good list
i just noticed that it is actually pinned, never seen a civ request poll be pinned before.
If aoe 4 try to be realistic,i dont see how they could made any meso civ i mean how they would get a chance against any other medieval civ realisticly speaking, without black powder, siege engine, horse, and only naked men with obisidian weapon they were good when they fight against other tribe like them, nothing else.
But against the most powerful medieval civ of theyr time, it would feel like putting a 3y old baby on a ring with Mike Tyson, made 0 sense. Lets the 40 civ being on aoe 2 for the fun, but on Aoe 4 who want to be more realistic the objective is to put only the most powerful civ in this era of time, so each of AO4 Civ would get a chance to win against any other one, if they fought in real battle.
With that on mind the only big powerfull civ who left is byzantine, ottoman empire, maybe the Mali for african(not sure about them),Korean(but maybe they would feel too much like china,i dont know),Norseman, hungarian,Japanese, khmer empire, Italy and Spanish
the way they do it in AOE 3 with numbers?
If you knew literally anything about history during this period and the Spanish invasion of Mesoamerica, you’d understand that it’s probably more shocking that they didn’t win than the fact that they lost. If the war between Spaniards and the Aztecs had come down to pure military might and nothing else, the Spanish wouldn’t have stood a hint of a chance.
Personally, I want the Haida, the Inuit, the Aztecs, the Incans, the Mapuche and the Mayans as civs. I posted civ concepts for the Nahua and the Seven Fires. I don’t think the Seven Fires would be a good civ, but I wanted to make a civ concept for them anyway, and they use a lot of the mechanics I intend on putting as the foundation for the Haida.
I’m working on civ outlines for the Haida, Inuit, and Icelandic Explorers rn, but elected to not post them for a month because the forums were busy with the game actually being released. Now that a month has passed, I plan on posting the Haida concept in the next few days.
its not aoe2 you cant have that mutch civ on this game or they would end being too similar and what would be the point to get an another aoe2 ? i dont get it. The objectiv of AOE4 is to make each civ really different of each other. Its cant be possible if we put the same number of civ we have on aoe 2 on aoe 4
Read the two I posted, then understand that the rest of the civs are planned to be as different from each other as those two are. The Nahua can literally build on water and the Seven Fires go from being agrarian in the early game to being nomadic in the late game.
I’d safely say designing radically different civs isn’t that hard.
SPAIN CONQUERORS !!! (IMPERIO ESPAÑOL DONDE NUNCA SE PONE EL SOL)
More than half of the civs in Age of Empires 2 are European, and so are half of the civs already in AoE4.
I can’t imagine why the community would prioritize non-European civs.
Because the Mississipians instead of Spain makes perfect sense.
Boohoo the Europeans are so oppressed
This isn’t even an official list, and there’s nothing saying these are the only options
Grow up.
If it’s not official, should not be pinned. Simple logic.
Not to mention it’s a heavily biased list.
You grow up and stop acting like Europe is the most important continent in the world.
I’m not responsible for your assumptions.
You assume that to justify the weak point you are making.
The list is terrible and there is no going around that.
I’m with you on this, it’s unofficial, no reason for pin.
Regardless of motivation, this poll amounts to huge disinformation. Ottomans, Spain, Portugal should be on any and every list because we, the AoE playerbase, matter. I’m reporting.
Hi guys, A pinned topic is to help users find popular discussion topics, not just for official announcements. If there are replies in this topic which should be reviewed, please flag them. Feel free to discuss in this topic your civ suggestions.
Hey, I appreciate the feedback and engagement. However, even if the main goal is to centralize discussion about new civs, it’s very clear that this poll is suboptimal for a pinned thread - just look at how many people go out of their way to say so.
If you look at the poll thread I made ([Poll] Which civs do you want to see in DLC? Corrected to include all relevant Age II civs), Spanish and Turks are in the top 5 for popularity (Turks are #2), but don’t even appear in this poll. Can I suggest merging the two threads, but making the poll from my thread the OP? If we’re to have a permanent pinned thread to discuss the possibility of new civs, it should not have a poll that misses some of the most popular civs, and instead includes a bunch of obscure ones that have never appeared in an Age game before.
