Hittites in a regular Death match - catapults are amazing, I believe an all round good civilisation for a death match.

Hittites

Also known as; ‘Full tech-tree when nobody else has it’ mode

Shang for an early game! …

I have been using the Japanese since like 2001 lol. Fully upgraded Samurai + conscription… if you got the resources, you can just dump them in a battle and overwhelm just about anything. I have 3 units of samurai, 1 of crossbows, and 5-6 trebs. that will wreck up the place quite well. while that is happening, I have villagers building a couple castles and 6-9 archeries near by to replace what you kill off.

This question was way oriented to aoe 1 but your comment still welcome, in that case… I used to love aztecs so much, with their eagles as scout … as a kid, all I could see was a bird headed man hahaha.

Celts. I’m 9% Irish. :#

After trying to put more that 10 poll option in this forum (and failing at it because I can’t put over that 10 options), I have made a custom poll to help us a bit

@KingDarBoja Good job on that, looks awesome

Hittites were generally the thing in DM - catapults + HHA or elephants, then use great scythe chariots and archers when the gold runs out. Though we used to play no seige no priest dms, so massing a ton or Minoan composite bowmen was cool. Persian elephants also fun.
Macedonian Centurions are great if there are only composite bowmen, but their villagers are EW.
Roman and Choson legion hordes in RoR, you can just keep pouring them in everywhere

@Penelinfi Thanks for your sharing, you made me remind those amazing battles at DM … the memories x)

I did kind of like Yamato a lot; Asian tileset, lots and lots of horses, only civ that has great HHA and Cataphracts at the same time if I remember.

Hitties because i am a boomer.
I like end age big battle of heavy catapults and elephant archers
moreover they are not totally useless in bronze age and can defend themselfs.

for bronze age i like minoen. because i find the composite stylish.

for fun i like greeks. because i like the academy units and the fact that no one play it.

more challenge this way.
and i like to crush my ennemy with my mass heavy catapults with 300HP
with big zone effect

So far we have a draw at favourite civ votes  But come on, if there is a great thing is having both advantages in the same civ: Phoenicians naval superior fire rate + cheap elephants.

nice poll you made right there ;D

I would have to say the Romans and Greeks both. I am in the process of working on my Ph.D in Biblical Studies, and I am a big fan of Early Church History, so with that said, i love the history of the Roman Empire. I also fancy the Greek Empire, mainly bc, the New Testament of Bible was written in Greek, and it was preserved in the Greek until it was translated into the English in 1611 by King James board of scholars, into what we have today as the English bible.

Thats pretty impressive imo, thanks for sharing your thoughts :).

I say Choson, Mass Legion (double hit pt) and longer range for towers. You can play a good defense or offense anytime
