we are still in beta. This game is a beta version that needed to be sold for 60 bucks
The game is boring. Doesnât matter how good or bad player you are. Just go play other games.
If you donât like the game, I donât have a problem with that. Whatâs the issue? Not a fan of people with different opinions?
not much but the way you react. why so pasive agressive?
I stopped playing because the balance is trash, and it has boring gameplay. Havenât tried it since the new patch, itâs not a terrible game I just donât find it that interesting and I like other age games better
I stopped playing because the balance is trash and because the patches we got so far didnât adress it at all.
you took the words right out of my mouth
People moaning about toxicity while being toxic kinda deserve criticism. Youâd agree with me if I was criticising someone who likes the game, which is half the problem here, right?
If someone stops playing the game because they donât like it, thatâs cool. If someone claims forum posters being toxic drove players away . . . while also being arguably toxic . . . theyâd better be ready for people to question that.
People being toxic are a problem, regardless of where that toxicity is aimed. Donât excuse it just because itâs aimed at people who like the game
I donât think players were driven away because people on the forum said their opinions didnât matter, players left because the game just isnât that fun to play most of the time. And there are people on both side in the wrong. The side that doesnât like the game just sits here and trashes it for no reason sometimes, and there are people who like it that will defend the game even when people bring up legitimate complaints and tell them fine donât play. Neither side is completely right
I left because I saw nothing in AoE4 that AoE2/AoE3 donât have. The few things it does have are unfortunately, not very useful in a game. Youâd think they would be really cool, but they arenât. Like the wall mechanic and the stealth forests which simply arent that required at my skill level.
The civs were too alike on the military front. Economies were different but managing the economy isnât the most exciting part of AoE. Managing diverse armies is, at least for me.
There was too much focus on competitive gameplay - even the maps are barebones with no flora and fauna apart from sheep, deer and trees. The maps donât look inviting. They feel like lifeless arenas where youâre playing a game, not immersive at all.
Campaign missions were boring. There was no immersive dialogue in the missions that made me hooked in the story. The documentaries were cool tho. Also, none of the 35 missions are memorable, Iâll never play an AoE4 campaign mission ever again.
Skirmish AI is really bad, doesnât put up a fight. I am a skirmish only guy so I guess I can eff off.
UI is bad. I couldnât ungarrison units one at a time from any building.
⊠that is mostly all of the reasons.
I can guarantee that most ppl that here are just ex players, veteran players or player that want to join aoe 4 but the current the state of the game is so lame that push them away.
ostia colega! eso se ve super injusto mmm
Yeah thatâs it most likely. Iâve played lots of RTS 17 years ago, didnât touch any computer for gaming purposes since then until Iâve played AoE4 on a friends computer during the stresstest. Really thought this could be a good game and tried to get into it but stopped being active in february as the game just felt too repetitive with lack of micro and matches tended to become longer and longer resulting in static situations. With recent patch changes I donât feel like getting back to it.
So you think players drove away cause they read negative comments in forums? Lol
Some.peoole think the game is trash, is a valid assumption, I personally donât think the game is trash, it is close to it, but for instance DOW lll is trash for me and manyyyy players and you know that for sure, so whatâs the issue? It seems that you enjoy addressing negative comments and you canât stand people that donât like the game.
Far too few players look at the forums for them to have any impact on the player numbers.
The hook simply wasnât sharp enough to nab on the first bite. The net had too many holes to reel them all in. Somebody forgot to throw in more chum when the forum sharks came around.
Iâm still waiting for bigger badder elephants.
The game needs more content, more game mods, world map like total war, new civilizations and stuff like this to keep players back. Small balance changes and new features for the competitive players will not bring players back or new players. Big price tournaments not make the game better.
The person I was replying to said toxic forum behaviour was driving people away.
Kinda feels like youâre misrepresenting my posts here.
I waited nearly 20 minutes today to find a 4v4 co-op game against AI before giving up. Iâve mostly found games pretty quickly, but if it becomes more common to not find a game within a few minutes, that will start to prevent me from playing the game.
It wouldnât be as bad if you could play while queuing, like you can in some other games. It could let you choose a civ, view the tech tree, and play in a âfree playâ mode where youâre at least practicing the build you intend to use.
Call me whatever you like. I had a lot of expectations and was waiting for some indigenous/influential Indian civilisation and not invader Delhi Sultanate. I woulndât be part of something that has its glorification. Which it doesnt deserve in first place. Dunno who designed this game, must be a pro islam. The fact that this game was able to sell I feel was due to legacy set by AOE2 and 3. When you see this game dying out slowly after some time you know it has not been developed on a satisfactory level.
