The playerbase is basically 50/50 multiplayer and singleplayer.
But in reality most players do both to some degree.
Almost every multiplayer player at last did play some of the campaign or does some skirmish vs. AI.
Most singleplayer players do also play online with friends. Maybe only coop vs. AI but still multiplayer. For many people even the prospect of potentially being able to play coop with friends in the future is important.
There are more people that want coop campaigns then people that actually play them because you need to arrange time with your friends with many people struggle with.
Desyncs are annoying even if you are not playing ranked.
Desync is not one bug. Itâs a class of bugs. Many different things can lead to desyncs and they have removed a lot of them.
Unfortunately there are new things being added that can cause desyncs.
Iâm not a fanboy.
I like the game, obviously, but I also want the game to improve.
I just think those kind of rants are pointless. If you want things to improve you should ask nicely. If that doesnât help then insulting that wonât make it better.
The more toxic this place gets the less willing they are to come here and read our suggestions.
Well, the multiplayer mode is as important if not more so than the single player mode, because you have tournaments etc. Itâs the multiplayer mode that brings the visibility on social media.
Whatâs more, players of ranked games are the most loyal of all players and will play for a long time, whereas a single player will finish the campaign and quit the game.
On what do you base that? Again i mentioned Age 2 DE, cant remember when it came out but even to this day, most players are single players. And that game has a huge multiplayer scene
Iâve asked nicely for 2 months now. Iâve sent bug reports, i filled in the survey they sent out. Itâs not just a rant, i am pointing out obvious problems and what has stopped me from playing the game because at this point it is just insulting. Iâve played aom extended edition for years, And i played it for months if not a whole year uninterrupted when i found the mod website. I was looking forwards to this game, i am not some hater that just wants to hate
I do agree with many points that you have brought in this thread. But I must say I also do feel that a considerable portion of players like singleplayer content only. Just look at steam. ONLY 34 % OF PLAYERS GOT THE MULTIPLAYER ACHIVEMENT. thatâs like super low.
But needless to say Iâm pretty confident that developers are actively fixing lots of stuff. And the Chinese DLC will be great.
Did you even read your own copy-paste? These bugs you said they âfixedâ are 90% from the Arena of the Gods. In other words, bugs that came from an update released after the gameâs launch, while the âoriginalâ bugs that came with the gameâs release are still here.
Note: Arena of the Gods is a ridiculous, poorly finished, and poorly developed DLC. The audio of the dialogues plays 5 seconds after the subtitles of the lines, and the voice acting is an embarrassment, even to listen to alone in your room.
100% in agreement. I donât understand why some people are so passive and love to defend those who donât care about them. Itâs almost like Stockholm syndrome. They pay for the game and apologize when they encounter a bug??? WTF??? And they even insult and try to discredit people who point out the errors in hopes theyâll be fixed!
A transformer on my street exploded on December 20. We politely, as you like, asked the city council to come and fix it. They sent a truck, and the transformer exploded again during the repair. They said they would come back that same night, on December 21, to fix it. The result? By December 23, we were still without power because of the incompetence of the company that lied. They stopped answering calls and stopped responding to messages.
A group of five people went to the avenue, placed some branches on the road, and buses stopped. Soon, those five people turned into 20 or 30 people. The police were called, the city council found out, and hours later, we had a new transformer on our street.
Sometimes, itâs no use asking nicelyâyou need more energetic actions. And if the community doesnât unite in this kind of action to demand what is rightfully theirsâat least a playable, bug-free game!âwe will always be treated like idiots. And what the Age developers are doing to us is exactly that: they are treating us like fools.
Back in the day, when we bought a game, it was complete. Now, when we buy a game, developers forget about those who bought it to focus on creating a crappy DLC to make more money! Itâs almost a joke that someone would accept this and still complain and insult those pointing out these absurdities!
Its the last played game of the series, the graphics are really cartoonish and bland, theres a reason every graphic comparison you see is zoomed in, graphics are not 2024 standard. Numbers are there, aoe2 de is still the best remaster of them all
We are not fan boys being fan boys.
We are saying that game development not only costs huge amount of money, Also takes alot of time. 2 months is nothing.
a) This doesnât seem fair; after all, youâre posting on a forum.
b) Itâs common knowledge that the bugs persist, so thereâs no point in defending incompetent developers. :S Itâs not an insult when I call them that; itâs just the reality. They are being that way. But they can prove me wrong right now by releasing fixes in a reasonable time frame, like any good developer would. XD
On the other titles in the series it seams to be more of a 50/50 split.
Also multiplayer players have more play time on average so itâs likely a larger part of the active community.
I donât think bugs age good or that bugs should stay in the game or anything like that.
But I donât think that insulting the developers is a good way to get rid of them.
Having a tiny bug in a video game is very different to not having any electricity for hours or even days.
You canât play AoM without electricity, can you.
Insulting people online is not the same as a street protest
Those are elected officials and not providers of a product
You can choose to not play AoM or not buy the product based on itâs quality. You canât just easily move to another city if your government is bad.
The severity of the issue is in a whole different dimension
I do believe that there should be a bigger outcry if there are serious bugs or balance issues in the game.
But that doesnât mean that the developers should be insulted. We should behave like adults not like children.
Those are 2 very different things.
Which game is bug free? Like 100% bug free? Maybe you can technically make a very basic game that is actually bug free but itâs almost impossible to make a more complex game with a real time engine, physics and online multiplayer bug free.
Every year they find multiple security issues in every major operating system and web browser despite there being many huge companies with billion dollar budgets trying to make them as secure as possible. Itâs just something that is impossible to completely prevent if you want to be able to add new features at a reasonable pace.
There is a reason why banking software is so incredibly expensive to write and change that many systems are running on many decades old software.
AoE1 was not complete on release. It got an expansion and multiple patches.
Yeah old console games could not be updated or patched but that meant that many very huge bugs were in the game forever. Many popular old games have many famous bugs. The first generation of Pokemon games are a good example. They had a lot if wild glitches and bugs.
But there are also many example in the AoE franchise. Teutons were banned in almost any multiplayer lobby before the release of The Conquerors because their TC rush was so overpowered.
We also tend to forget all the shitty games in the past because we choose to only remember the good ones.
I do like getting additional content in my games. Both AoE2DE and AoE3DE got a lot of new things that made have a lot of fun playing those games. More then any bug fixes improved my enjoyment.
Both games were always playable for me and bugs were always annoying but never completely ruined the experience.
Iâm obviously still happy about every bug they fixed and some bug fixes had a considerable impact on my enjoyment of the game, just not as much as the new content.
AoMR has a bunch of bugs that annoy me but nothing that makes made me stop playing the game.
The thing that made me stop playing the game is the limited amount of content, especially compared to the Extended Edition.
Since I already payed for the 2 upcoming DLC I sure hope they deliver them and not do what you apparently want and delay them for months or even years so the game can be almost bug free.
No, I simply meant for context. Thereâs a reason I was posting AotG fixes. Itâs because the other poster asked for them.
You having whatever opinion you do of the developers doesnât change the fact that you didnât read the full notes and assumed my quote was the entirety of what was addressed.
