Why isn't the Small Trees mod working?

And why are my mods being disabled between games/ sessions?

there’s a number of different versions of the small trees mod that seem to be working, while others not. who knows why some dont work… i just interchange between them

I thought at least the “official” version would work, but it doesn’t. Not consistenetly.
