That’s why Feitoria should be moved to the Castle Age, as it is a nice unique way of buffing the civ BEFORE imperial and also doing the Feitoria Justice.
And yeah that crap team bonus should be changed too, as beck then, cartography costed 100F, 100G
If your enemy matches the 5 feitoria with 100 vils/trade and their is wood to cut like in Arena or black forest, than your enemy can spamm trash plus sell food and wood in 1v1 to pump out more gold units than you could ever do with the feitoria plus he has pop left for trash he can afford while you can’t.
You would just loose every fight because feitoria eco can’t keep up. If you lose every engagement you also can’t stop trebs from pushing your bbt even more into a corner.
It is a defensively turtle strategy so passive it almost always loses. Unless wood runs out…
It isn’t viable. There isn’t any serious pro game where replacing vils for feitroias worked when wood was still available. Even arena feitoria boom is just short term viable becausw in the long run villager eco is always better.
That would not fix teh Feitoria, and it should not be fixed, in my opinion.
Ports need buffs, but just small ones.
Increasing their Gold discount, or increasing the Ship HP bonus + a small buff to Organ Guns, would do it.
I would advise taht, if the Gold discount is increases, nothing else gets touched.
If, on the other hand the Ship HP bonus gets increased, then the Land gamplay can be improved with an Organ Gun buff (like +3 Damage).
True, but it was a Team Game, so the guy just deleted his Vills, and we all got his remaining resources, which were very safely on the back, specially the Wood.
That strategy actually helped the whole team, because he could spam BBCs and Keeps, while feeding a lot of Food and Gold to other players, and not use his own natural resources anymore.
I agree with you, the feitoria should stay niche because else it would mean a complete rework.
The way it is currently, it is either worse than vils, or if overbuffes it is better and most likely broken op.
If feitoria is touched then it should be complete reworked aka pop cost removed and fixed build limit like town centers (2 in feudal for cumans). This would turn it into a real eco bonus that is useful in every game. Would also have the advantage of reducing the frustration when port can switch to full feitoria eco while everybody else runs out of steam.
If Shared Exploration is on, we get something else instead (close to the nature of the original, idk extra sheep are visible on the map for each player? Their own extra sheep obv)
I would like to see some team bonus to their champions. Iberia had this carrack black sword. I read something about it and it was special with some kind of hand guard for Portuguese military (navy). The hand guard is speculated to be good to defect hits to the hand from untrained foes.
How does this translate into aoe. We convert the Persian team bonus.
militia line deals +2 damage against skirm and spears and genitours (“unskilled” goes in aoe terms?)
They have to give a Portugese player considerable advantages on land maps, and not just when wood runs out.
This means if you don’t want to move them to Castle Age, their GOLD generation should be increased by like +30%
It should be a side bonus. Currently it is one of the only 3 they have.
It is a pitty, considering the Shere number Saracen and teutons have. Of course their bonuses are this inflated because they individually suck too (beside the teutons armor broken mess)
wym, its more viable than it ever was, it produces more resources than release rates other than stone. The only thing worse is that it now needs stone to build and it takes longer for it to repay the stone price back
A cool bonus would be to replace the Team Bonus with a Militia line bonus too, like you suggested.
Perhaps something like:
-Militia line units deal +2 Damage to all Infantry, to make them stand out more against Samurai and Aztec Champs.
No currently you allies get cartho too, so they see what you do too. What I am proposing is removing cartho as the team bonus but keeping it as civ bonus
