That is the build i have been trying recently for the past few months. Next i will try Khmer 15 pop archer rush
, you shouldn’t be doing 15 pop, that’s really bad if you want to get better. 14 vils is no-where near enough villagers to go to Feudal, you don’t want to go up with less than 18 usually.
“Dont hide vills” “If its in-game then dont get salty if someone uses it against you.”
Oh so someone doing something you specifically dont like just because the rules dont actively punish them for doing so is not cool?
Please, tell me more.
For the OP: I dont really get why we’re here? Why did you ask to know everyone’s opinion and then when they give it to you, you act like they’re treating you unfairly? You asked people what they think and then show no self awareness when they actually tell you what they think. You knew people hated this strat coming in here, did you expect there to be a tower rusher support group that patrols the forums?
what was the point of this thread?
FreeWinPlz1739 said: “Look at your picture. The rusher used a mod that is literally a cheat and made tower rush much easier.
I don’t care if people don’t use mod. The strategy is a part of game”
In the options menu you can select to see building fire range like this.
When in game hit Esc>Options>“Game” tab then in the left column 2/3 of the way down is “Building Range Indicator.” You can opt to put it as either always, when selected or never. Its on never by default. I just found it today actually.
You are going to try another cheese build? Do you realise that by doing so you will not be getting better at the game, right?
Arent expierence on any build cheese or not a progress in it self ?
Not really. If you only cheese you are just gonna inflate your elo and you are not really learning how to macro, which is the way you get better ar rts usually
Your going for the wrong concensus what i mean is after he played it for a while he made progress with the cheese strategy but moves on to another one and thats progress in learning and mastering one strat and then go for the next one to master
I am new to ranked online multiplayer play but not new to AOE2. I have been playing on and off since 2005. So, no there is nothing new to learn of basic mechanics. I just don’t want the boring follow the build and play for 40 min-2 hours to see who can macro micro better. That does not appeal to me. There was a time when i used to play the regular build and let the game decide when the map had no trees and that is no fun.
I want to see decisions in 20-30 min gameplay that’s why i love early agro.
Most game are over in about 30 mins (in game). No trees? What are you talking about 11
islands?
Yeah, those were crazy days. Imagine no trees on black forest and you are playing over 2 hours.
The whole map was covered in military buildings and trash units spam.
we used to play islands black forest and arabia
Wow, true variety. Only nomada and megarandom are missing
if you want to make a cheese all-agression build,i think mongols pre-mill archer rush is probably the strongest all-in strat that you can make. I’ve had some fun with it .
And imo this isn’t even “BM” in about 1000 elo, it’s not as technical to deal with that as with trushes.
I can probably even make you a buildorder for that if there isn’t one good out there already.
Tower and TC rush are a part of the game. I don’t have to like it. And I don’t. But don’t you dare think that you’re entitled to a GG from me after one of those scumbag maneuvers. You can pry the GG from my cold dead hands. You want a GG? Play the game with your military, not a bunch of miserable carpenters. Stay mad.
Dude, those games almost never happens on the current ladder. The standard arabia game is about 30 mins
Nice reply, very well put. Totally agree with this assessment.
the short answer? it makes the game pointless
the long answer? if the only way to “counter” a strategy is to mirror it (in this case making defensive towers), what’s the point of a strategy game? especially in a rock-paper-scissors kind of RTS like AoE2
and it’s pretty hypocritical of you to give tower rushing (with Poles nonetheless) a pass because it’s “in-game”, but hiding villagers as a response to that frustrating strategy is a no-no for you? well that one is also in-game, same as typing 105 if they beat your strategy when there’s a voice line for it in-game, where’s the line?
you either gotta agree some strategies/moves inside the game are frustrating to face because the only “efficient” response to them is to mirror them with an obvious disadvantage (like Poles Trush, or Vietnamese lame), or just count everything as an “in-game” thing and enjoy gaining points with any strategy and don’t care about not getting a GG when it obviously hasn’t been an enjoyable game for your opponent
I used to get pretty salty back on voobly facing these strategies when i just started playing aoe2 online, but nowadays if i see the enemy tower rushing and I don’t feel like making towers myself, i just type something like “nah gg” rightaway and resign.
people function differently, to me making aoe2 into a tower defense game just for the sake of gaining Elo is not fun when there’s so much more to the game, but not everyone thinks the same. so as long as you don’t receive serious hateful messages because of your strategy, just enjoy your fresh points and go next
