Team games are ruined now. Every games just have 1 guy go all in resource and make wonder fast as hell and mass walls and mass keeps with towers. rest of team hurrass and stalls and gg.
3v3 and 4v4 are just broken with a wonder victory now. Its every game now whoever makes a wonder 1st the other team just quits. This is every game.
Before someone says well just rush. Well if you got 2 or 3 other team mates protecting then thats not going to happen. By this time mass walls and towers are up and you dont get mass siege till castle. By then its to late . you wont kill the wonder in time no matter what.
On top of that you got mass fire lancer waiting to sack your base in 1 min if you leave or dont protect that to.
Yes you can! Create a custom lobby and you can set win condition, you can turn off landmark victory, wonder victory and sacred sights victory. If all 3 are turned off the win condition is that you must destroy every building and unit of your opponent to win
Every 4v4 or 3v3 is just who builds wonder 1st wins. no big battles no fun. just rush to wonder then make 1000 walls and go watch a movie for 15 min. Every game man. every game!!. on maps that you can you just rush scouts and win that way. siege scouts better then bombards and cheaper to.
I like to just play china now and rush to my wonder. then i go for a smoke come back and i won. I dont even build units

You can also made custom game and disable wonder victory… Tools for fun are there, use it
Sacred sites are the counter to wonders (in theory, at least. Black forest lacks sacred sites now, so you would have to destroy their wonder). Alternatively, you can landmark snipe the player that built the wonder, which works just as well as destroying the wonder. Usually, their landmarks are not as well defended as their wonder.
if you can snipe, you’ve already win at the start. It has nothing to do with wonder.
The idea to fight for SacretSite - are fine.
The idea to rush throw all enemies bases to kill the Wonder… why? If you can rush throw bases to kill the wonder you already won.
Personally, I do altf4 if my teammate do a wonder. Some games they can still win 3vs4 with wonder.
Id personally like to see a timer increase - 15 min is way too short compared to 10 min for sacred sites which are MUCH harder to defend and hold on to. I also think sacred site timer should scale with amount of sacred sites, king of the hill with 1 sacred site should probably be 15 minute timer rather than 10.
And while we’re on the subject, please for the love of god undo the black forest sacred site removal. Without sacred sites that map is a complete ■■■■-show. Its basically a rush for both teams to get the wonder out first and then throw units at a meatgrinder and build giant rows of walls. Terrible gameplay
My point is that you do not have to go attack the Wonder, which is often very well defended by multiple teammates. Instead eliminate the player that built the Wonder, whose landmarks are often left much more exposed. Many players do not realize that if the teammate that built the Wonder is eliminated, the Wonder is also effectively eliminated (left standing, but grayed out).
Wonder victories are unequal across different civs: Abbasids are the worst Wonder builders, because their two landmarks (capital TC and HoW) make them really easy to snipe. Chinese are probably the best, because of their many landmarks, building bonuses, and siege bonuses.
I have grown to appreciate the concept of Wonder victory, but I think the Wonder win condition needs tweaking: whether by cost, time-to-build, time-to-win, faster sacred site counter, scaling with number of teammates, a better explanation of win conditions, or any combination thereof.
I did not know killing the landmarks of the player that build the wonder knocks them out killing the wonder too.
I’ll have to look at the scared site victory as a counter also. I got 5 min to get them and hold if a wonder goes up. Wouldnt be hard really. most games like this the players are afk anyways and we control the whole map.
Sometime I dont notice the wonder was build for a few min. you get focused and then dont see till you here the bells. Ill have to really look for this more
You and no one still did not explain the purpose of the wonder. The weaker team can win game, because they decided to build wonder earlier. Why weaker players should be able to win?
If teams are equal → who build a wonder earlier will win.

In aoe2 TGs are winning mostly by map control, or trade control. Not because one person “clicked to build wonder earlier”. And it does not matter 30 mins or 1 hour, he clicked earlier so he won. stupid as hell
