Workshop content sold as a dlc for 13 euros

down to “mostly negative” now, 35%
I hope they realize how badly they have ###### ## with this

it is worth noting that there are only 34 reviews so far, so it can swing quite quickly

It would be a shame if this prevents an actual campaign DLC in the future, which quite frankly this should have been from the get-go and was marketed as such when first announced. Selling free content is just a real scummy practice that hopefully they’ll learn they can’t get away with. The AoE playerbase is too wise for this kind of thing.

have they removed the workshop versions of the scenarios yet?

Man they are exactly the same. I have played all these scenarios a couple of years before. Where are the improvements they promised? 3/3 scenarios are exactly the same!!! i will try more later today to see. Haven’t removed them yet but I this they will do it very soon.

That’s true…

Yes, they had to do only one thing, how can they do things so badly… they recycle content and on top of that when they release it it comes out with bugs or failures… and if on top of that they get out the original scenarios from the workshop, Troy burns…

No and it most likely won’t happen just in the same way as you still can download and play the Forgotten mod for Conquerors today.

But The Forgotten mod is separate from the Conquerors…the Filthydelphia scenarios can be found in the workshop by himself and goodbye…

But was later released as a DLC for HD Edition which is my point.

Just in case I’ve downloaded the mod files. If they delete them from the workshop, then I’d probably not be able to upload them publicly. At best they’d delete them because they’re technically part of a DLC or whatever, at worse I… I don’t wanna risk my account xd

Still, I could enjoy them for myself no problem.

The mod versions will not be removed. You are free to enjoy them as custom scenarios or enjoy the updated versions with voice acting, localization, and other improvements in Victors and Vanquished!

This makes sense. After all, they are game developers not studio. They don’t get their market positioning. It is somewhat like tumblr banning NSFW content. Lol

Yeah, as much as I would have wanted new assets, there was every reason not to expect them in this DLC (even though the DLC would have been a great opportunity to add them if devs were more attuned to player interests). Firstly because of the longstanding reluctance of the DE team to add more than the barest minimum of new graphics for a couple years now, and secondly because the lack of any new graphics in the trailers made it pretty obvious that they had nothing to show off in that department.

Hopefully they finally start paying attention to people who want new assets.

Yoooo! Called it. Removing them would have been very sketchy, and this way it’s just a pretty straightforward matter of “buy the DLC if you think the updates are worth it” rather than “you are forced to pay to access previously free content.”

Very sad to see that one of the best scenario/campaign creators got his work bundled in such an awful package.

Especially considering that he originally pitched the idea for this DLC.
