Please explain the use of “mandatory”. Are you saying you want to split the player base like TAD did?
What do you mean split the playerbase?
People who didn’t have all dlcs couldn’t play with those who had the dlcs.

And what does that have to do with the current situation? That’s not an existing restriction anymore.
Nothing, Kingfisher is probably just misinterpreting hamletlopez.
Yes, now the dlcs for Greece and Wallachia and Switzerland and Liechenstein will be a surprise xd…
Yes, Mongolia was annexed by China in 1635…Korea can fit but in a dlc with Vietnam…then in Asia itself you have the Middle East (Persia-Oman), Central Asia (Khazakhs-Uzbeks) and Southeast Asia (Burma -Siam) as possible thematic dlc…
As I understand it, the Poles were like those in the Napoleonic Era mod and the Danes were like those in the Wars of Liberty mod…
As I understand it, the Poles would be like those in the Napoleonic Era mod and the Danes would be like those in the Wars of Liberty mod… the Poles would have the Hetman as a explorer, Scytheman, and Polish Lancers and the Danes would have Royal Grenadiers (Heavy Ranged Infantry with Promotions), Espingol (Artillery) and Royal Oldenburgs card (that would have allowed them to train Royal Grenadiers and allied the player with the House of Oldenburg).
Most likely they are historical maps, because they are easier to make…
No, let’s forget that, although I dream that one day it will happen, but most likely it will be a dlc of historical battles with the civs that have not yet appeared in the historical battles (Dutch, Swedes, Incas, Italians, Maltese)…
Yes, that is, he is the obvious choice as AI leader, the other would be Jan III Sobieski…
Yes, that would have been a great country, Poland could have been a great superpower in the 20th century if it had managed to keep Russia in its power in 1613…
Yes, the Home City is most likely Warsaw…
Do historical maps count as SP content?..
Yes, I think they will arrive next year… it would be great if they put 2 Asian dlcs in a row: Persia and Oman and then Burma and Siam…
I wonder how similar the real DLC will be to my idea xDDD.
I like the idea of the ox cart.
Assuming it is a unit that carries goods, it could be a substitute for supply crates. In other words a single ‘supply drawer’.
My main concern with the upcoming DLC is what it can offer that is not already part of KotM. There aren’t really that many new maps or royals houses to be added. Maybe half a dozen new European maps and a couple of new royals houses.
What could make this DLC stand out and be different from KotM?
Realistically since vividly left we won’t get new maps.
They also said no to any more new Royal houses, so you shouldn’t expect that either.
Maybe we will get some historical maps but you should imagine the main appeal of the DLC is the factions and their content.
The other side of the coin is that as they have done the European native/map blow-out with KotM, they can put far more time and effort into the civs themselves, hopefully with the end result being far more ‘solid’ and cohessive (not to mention less campaign asset-using) civs than Malta.
Devs at some point did mention on Discord that it would be very unlikely for new Royal Houses, though that doesn’t stop House rejiggling (for example Winged Hussars will need to be replaced) nor even Natives (Sami for example).
Why. Is there no other map-maker in the studio?
Indeed, the House of Vasa and Jagiellon should be heavily reworked, from units to techs, since they wouldn’t make much sense with an actual Polish civ in the game.
That is certainly what people seem to think… I’d have to hope they can put a few things together though…
Not necessarily. Spanish don’t have Conquistadors. Not even a Conquistador card
And that’s actually a good thing. That unit is basically a meme from aoe2.
Don’t they have a card that sends some of them?
They can send 1 conquistador for every 3 archaic units lost up to 10 which works quite well with Logistician xbow pike
The unit was added after the civ so it doesn’t have the same problem.
Meh, that’s fine. Maybe a card for a few Conquistadors or even a ‘Jesuit Mission shipment’ sending a Jesuit minor civ functionality to Spanish (and Ports) Native Embassy, but it’s really just flavor stuff isn’t it.
All of the Spanish archaic units (and again Ports) and hero are Conquistadors - there was not an actual single Conquistador ‘unit type’ outside of AOE.
Of course, let’s say that since they were Germans they fought in both armies…
Yes, that is, the 2 civs, some new royal houses, the missing European maps (10 out there?), 8 historical maps from the 18th-19th centuries (since they are already available from the 16th-17th centuries) and little else…
We’ll see…let’s wait for the surprise…5 UU for each civ and then the rest…
Yes, it would be a nod to the Norse from AoM, although it would be similar to the Settler Wagon…
Yes, they will surely have more work…Poland a cavalry civ (although the Obuch from AoE 2 could return) and Denmark a naval civ (although it will have good infantry like the Friskytte too)…
Many are AoE 2 devs and don’t know how to use the AoE 3 editor…
Yes, I think they are going to have a lot of rework unless they focus Poland on the Sobieski or Poniatowski dynasties…Wettin too…
You have the “Reconquista” card with the Spanish…
Of course, exactly… I have it for thematic reasons…
Judging by the in-game loading screens, there seemed to be planned maps for Gibraltar, the Balearic Islands, Malta, Iceland, the Ural Mountains and maybe the Black, Caspian and North Seas.
Greenland, the Canaries and the Azores could also be good.
Obviously, “splitting” already existing maps is still an option. but I think Europe has already enough maps in general.
The houses of Vasa and Jagiellon as they are now in the game are clearly meant to cover Poland (both with the units and techs). It would be very weird to have a Polish civs without Winged Hussars, the Golden Liberty or the Folwarks. I think they are more tied to Poland itself than that to those particular dynasties.
They should be replaced by something that is more representative of thoses houses. For example, the Jagiellon should have more Lithuanian stuff. And of course, we should give the Vasa a special ship that sinks right after spawing ![]()
