Their ranged attack is pretty awful against anything that is not a goon, they are super vulnerable to ranged damage oftentimes goons are mixed with Skirmishers, and they don’t have the range of skirmishers, So you’ve got no room for complaint…

Not to mention their siege is pathetic compared to pikemen.

Lol I hate dutch btw. I’m mostly playing france and ottoman myself since the update.

Their ranged attack is exactly the same as xbow if you take into account rate of fire and they have more range and speed than musk so they can kite them all day just like a xbow would, they do 25% less damage to a musk than a xbow does because they lack the multi vs heavy infantry but they still can deal with them fine.
Sure they get shredded vs any light infantry because they get countered, and have melee resist.

The issue with them is how they deal with both hand and ranged cav so well for the price of a pike or xbow which could only deal with 1 of those units, it’s too good of a hybrid unit for such a cheap cost, make it like 60 wood and 60 food or halve the ranged cav multiplier.

xbow only do 1.5 due to the 0.75 multi to all cav that they share with skirm

so azaps do more then twice the damage

That’s not an issue! the whole point of their existence is to be cheap. Abus are prohibitively expensive Jannisaries will seriously slow down your age up with their high food cost the new grenadier is even more expensive (more so than the standard type).

LoL no they can’t…Their ranged attack has a wind up animation so no kiting musks, one third of them pulverized by musket balls before you start getting kills, you’re better off meleeing the musketeers and using jannisaries as ranged support.

you dont even use azaps against other units. Their only job is to massacre light cav and melee hand cav that comes close.

For other stuff they can just pull back and let the abus handle it easily

that animation becomes instant after the age 4 card

Not a big deal at that point then.

Now if you want to talk about a massively strong cheap unit: Landwehrs they are fun, I don’t see the point of needle gunners when I’ve got those guys.

HOTFIX NEEDED, 1 OF EVERY 4 GAMES GETS CRASHED WITH THE OUT OF SYNC THING !!!

Well they are only available from age 3 after sending a card and even then they’re just a xbow reskin with more base damage and lower multis. They cannot fight other skirms because they’re hugely out ranged.

one thing at a time, germany is no where close to otto power, that one also requires a card

It’s not just a Crossbow reskin, they become gunpowder units and as such arsenal upgrades make them scale hugely.

Yes they’re slightly better, you need to actually send advanced arsenal and pay for all those upgrades though and you need to send a card to just enable them. I don’t see them being used in 1v1 ever, I’d much rather send 3 war wagons, 9 uhlans, jaegers etc.

i mean you know Azap is not there to fight musk or skirm right, i can say " musk lose to skirm, they are so bad !!"
do you know the term of timing and classic MU knowledge of this game ? because if you know it a bit you would know how azap can be strong for their stat and their cost ( especially for a civ like otto if you see what i mean )

a thing going under the radar is the changes to the cav archer, they are a much more legit unit now, for both russia and otto

speed has increased to 7 so they can kite, they have target lock and for otto that flight archery cards gives them the animation of keshiks, so they are much more responsive and i am pretty sure results in a dps increase.

though now that I think about it, what units are left that dont have target lock?

edit: apparently keshiks dont have target lock, target lock for kehshiks pls

Yea cavalry archer changes were welcome indeed. Flight archery looks mediocre on paper but after trying it woah does it make a difference.

Russian cavalry archers don’t have flight archery but get better melee with splash!.

Not sure about that - if you wanna build a start around them, advanced arsenal and relevant upgrades aren’t all than much of a hurdle and they payoff is a stronger crossbow with double the siege attack. Mind that german also get 8/10 crossbows which all turn into landwhers after scharnhost reforms is sent. They’re not skirms, but staring down a swarm of up to 18 xbows with CIR behind a bunch of ulhan/doppel in age 3 is gonna be a heck of a timing attack - not an uncounterable one, but still pretty dangerous.

You need to make the units though and are then wasting a lot of cards and resources to achieve that. Instead of sending the card to make these units and AA just send 9 uhland and 3 war wagon and have those on top of the other units you had.

Yeah that’s pretty much it. A nerf in general I think but justified, war dogs were too good for just 75 food, shipment spam with their super fast FF was often unstoppable. Spanish gold is probably worth sending again now though.

I’m not saying this because it seems unfair to me, I’m saying this because I saw some people saying that this is a buff, when it seems like a nef to me.

Also I don’t remember what the Asian Mercenary Army card consisted of so I guess it’s a Buff.
