I also think that we will get at least 2 new DLCs this year. A surprize would be to announce both, with the first released almost immediately and the second 6 months after. I have seen this on other game on steam.
I disagree. Problem becomes uniqueness in terms of identity overlap I believe, not the bonuses themselves.
I could share you a list of not weird viable early game civ bonuses for at least like 30 civs. After that sure, the bonuses get way too weir but before that I dont really think so
This would be the best possible roadmap (even better if it includes new unique castle models for all civs as well as a promise for new architecture sets for existing as well as new civs).
I like to battle it out with civs from around the world. More of the sameish civs feels just unnecessary to me when we could have Kongolese e.g.
How exciting would it be to get a brand new Central African architecture set as well as maybe another Regional unit plus some new Flora and Fauna?
That’s what I bought DLCs for in the past, to immerse myself in new narratives, not retread old paths and play the same story from what feels like 10 different perspectives and get a single birch tree as new Floral element.
well, if they are going to add new building architectures, new regional units, and so on, then i’m all in for sure, but each civ feels a bit generic despite its origin outside buildings in some cases. i mean ethiopian champions looks exactly the same as teutonic champions.
a real revolution to better represent various regions would be to also ■■■ a variant skin color or a minor skin changes for generic models from a region to another. like east-asia villager should be clearly different than central african, european, and meso-american ones. that would be the real revolution i would like to see
Sim, mas a concepção de civs na época em que fizeram o mod, não imaginaram que o jogo cresceria tanto e seriam oficializados. A concepção do jogo era diferente com 18 civs há 20 anos também.
But all we know that Eagles were part of AZTEC society.
The only thing I could expect from FE creativity is a unit like the Slinger that could make the new native american civ more unique. Of course It’s not like Aoe3 in this regard but these civs don’t have history backup enough to make a tech tree that allows you to “feel the new civ is smooth”
It’s a very weird position. I am not against new “meso civs” but they are much more complicated to accept without many features to not make them “underwhelming”
I think regional skin for the units could be done easily. But I am not sure if all players want it because it would make more difficult to sort/micro the units. Personally I am 100% up for a change like this.
I have played star wars galactic battlegrounds and regional skins for generic units, while indeed made them more difficult to use, it wasn’t a real issue for me.
I totally agree with your point. A new meso civ would be welcome if it has something very unique. A new canoe ship would be something very interesting as an extra regional unit. To replace effectively galleon maybe?
I wish Aztecs had Canoe as an unique unit to help them in the water but they already have Shipwright and Dry Dock with Fast fire ship to not make them too much useless
The initial motif from FE was to give us the forgotten empires and stories, imagine how much people that does not search for specific events will be impressed by FE storytelling about a non expected civ from Asia or Africa??
I loved the Hausa on Aoe3 (and never ever heard or read about before speculating it), so going for the safe position would undermine the potential Aoe2 could even get.
People - with reason - complain about how many civs we would need to learn to play it properly but if we get a Naga civ (Like Warcraft 3, a civ only on campaigns and not on random maps?). It’s complicated at certain point
Well, depend on the unit, especially if you want to give regional skins to the whole line when you can upgrade them.
They could leave eagles as regional units for meso and north america. And reskin them into andean warriors or something like that for south america. With the same stats, but different names and models.
That’d also make balancing easier because they could nerf or buff one version without messing with the other one.
I agree with you on that part, considering not a single one of the latest Euro DLC suggestions I’ve seen convinced me both in terms of coverage and design to be unique enough from the civ they’ve been splitted from.
On the mean time, the Inca campaign sees you battling against it’s own civ way too often considering there’s only one civ for the whole continent. You can’t say either that with solely three civs, all the potential in terms of Eagle Warrior civs has been exhausted.
Might be the right time to focus on the departments the game is truly lacking of.
As an option, I’m 100% for that. Some competitive players want to recognize the various units at glance, so that’s why I think it should remain optional if it should ever come to the game.
Well, Bohemia was a kingdom.
I think today is the last day of this week to expect news for the new DLC.
This is one main issue with meso civis you have less unique combinations for making a tech tree.we already have one with full foot unit set one with no champion and one without halbs.how many more can be made with the limited set of units available to them?
Still no sign of the Venetian war galley’s.
well i was talking about changes so little that they would still be clearly the same unit. like a ethiopian champions is the same but with a black skin color. what i would change most notably are the vills honestly, like a new vills skin for each region
Now one with no arbs. Another one I read an interesting suggestion. A civ with no spear + skirms. Instead they will have a new trash unit that will counter both archer + cav. A high PA, high speed but low attack melee infantry with a big attack bonus vs both of the armor classes.
More than three if we can have already half a dozen civs based on Heavy Cav at least.
And then she will write about an AoE1 or AoE3 civ.
11
I also want more Archer civs. We have only 6 according to in game tech tree. Although one can argue the actual number is double in practice. All the naval civs except Berbers are actually archer civ in terms of play style.
