Exactly this. The new DLC would be planned for several months later. But in this case they wouldn’t added already the achievements on steam and make depots for the new expansion. These are moves approximately 2-3 weeks before the release of an expansion. And we have already passed this timeline.
They are playing with us and with our feelings sadly
This doesn’t look good indeed…
“You may be familiar with them through the games, but I think it is time for us to dive deep and Expand our knowledge of their culture”
The first part may imply that we already know the upcoming civlizations by already having played with them in the game. The second part puts a capital E on expand for no reason. May “expanding” be a hint for “splitting”? Splitting a civ we have already played with? Islam?? Bengal cats??
It feels nice to be part of the collective hysteria .
This line would have fitted better with LotW ngl
Now I’m reading the blog post again, I don’t think it is completely unrelated to the upcoming DLC. It uses key words like “expansion” and “expand”.
I agree with Gaudio3342, it might be a hint that civs represented already in campaign missions will be added, like Swahili in the Portuguese campaign, And like they already did with Poles, Burgundians and Bohemians which were extensively represented in various campaigns but without their own in-game civ.
Perfect time to mention this thing I made a while ago:
Well in hindsight the blurb about the “civilizations we didn’t engage with yet” was likely 100% reffering to other sage of empire posts. This series didn’t have anything about Japan, China and the Islamic world yet so from the author’s point of view writing that made sense.
this could be a hint to a civi who can train cats to scout or anything. Maybe Bengal cats? we have t wait until carnival or holy week.
How Bengals are related with Cats? Only for the Bengals kitty?
Bengals converted to Islam very early though.
The Bengalis they are referring to are the kingdoms like the Palas etc. Not the Islamic dynasties…
Yep, no new civs info. I don’t think post has anything to do with new expansion.
I’m disappointed with this blog, not because of lack of new informations, but I clearly see people behind this blog are for sure related with AoE IV. Poster wrote that cats were not respected in Europe, which is not true for medieval Poland as example. Cats in Poland had common role in polish folklore. There were even famous “sea cats” in medieval Poland.
But yeah, europe bad.
In fact the campaign deals with Pachacutec (1438-1471) until the last one that deals with his son and successor Tupac Yupanqui (1471-1493)…and then the son of Tupac Yupanqui, Huayna Capac (1493-1525) is the Inca leader in aoe 3 DE…
Palas is an empire but how is that related to Cat?
There’s Bengal cat as cat breed.
Yeah.
Assuming Bengals only for cats is kinda dumb honestly. But since we don’t have any clue at all, we have to come up with something. 11
I never said the opposite 11
We also have this image which could be from the box art.

Bengal tiger. (20 chars )
