Thanks for the responces!
I only can contribute by saying for those interested that in “konnik” the right way to pronounce it is by using the double “n”. (con-nick)

You should send that to T90: Official. I’m sure he’ll butcher the pronunciation of it at least 10 times.

To be honest the best pronouncion You will find on google translate. You can use this option that translator will pronounce it for you.

It would be Ohbusz/Oubusz than.

Thanks for that. I didn’t know to use double “n”. As a trivia: In Polish language konik is diminutive for horse.

Not going to lie, I am really excited about the new voice lines. How closely is Czech and Polish related to Slavonic (language which Slavs speak). Is there some German influence in Czech or not at all @NeonCzechia ?

As I can speak for Poles. The Slavonic, Polish and Czech are sometimes smilliar, but Polish and Czech is much closer to each other than to the Slavonic one.

I will gave example here:
Slavonic: - Polish:
K vashim uslugam - Na waszych usługach
Prikazaniya? - Rozkazy ?
Da, gospodin - tak mój panie

German language has some influence on Polish language but rather small ( some words are polonized german words ).
Like German “klamotten”, in Polish there is “klamoty”

Czech is more similar to Slovak, we have a lot in common, i can understand slovak very well, but polish is very difficult for me, polish is more different, especially in writing, czech and slovaks have diacritic marks (https://cdn.britannica.com/92/1992-050-1F7E7498/languages-family-tree.jpg). And we have a lot of words with origin in german , but some of czech words were taken from russian during chce national revival in 18 and 19 century etc.

The thing about Slavonic is that all modern Slavic languages have evolved since than, and they evolved in different directions. Great Moravia (that includes Czechia lands) was the first place they tried it using the original slavic script (glagolic) but it didnt last long as the German Catholic influnce overcame the deciples of Cyril and Metodius and some of them left for Bulgaria where the second script (Cyrilic) was made and later spread across the South and East Slavs.

My point is that back than the different Slavic groups spoke much similar dialects than it is now. That included the Western Slavs. We are about to see if the devs decide to use old version of those languages or modern. If they use old versions the way units speak should be pretty close to how slav and bulgarin units speak. If the go for more modern approach there will be more difference.

 I can only imagine. And its just a “c” in there, which is not pronounced like “see” in czech, luckily there is not any “ř” in the word

I think the polish is overall one of the hardest languages on the world. I find Czech language difficult for me too, but still It’s easier for me to partially understand than Russian. Example in word: Houfnice - it’s singular form. But because of this “e” from perspective of my language it looks like plural form.

Also I would like to ask speakers with good knowledge of english. Why the civilization is called “Poles” and not the “Polish” ? Is there any difference ?

I’m not Czech, but you have a lot of weird signs on your words which supposedly correspond to a very specific pronunciation non-Czechs will probably struggle with.

Yes, these are the diacritic - č, ř, š, ž, ě, ý, á, í, é, ú, ů  And pronuniation is the least problem in studying czech for foreigners - this is worse: Czech declension - Wikipedia

I know from my South Slavic work colleagues that Slavic languages are quite complicated. In German we have 4 of those, but some languages like the Slavic ones have considerably more.

Yurts should be for Mongols, Tatars & Cumans, but then you wouldn’t have the clay brick houses from the Central Asian set.

My point was, if they can make unique castle for every civilization, Yurts only for Mongols, It should possible to give different skin for Monks ( not to mention Meso civs [ thankfully ] have already unique monk ].

I think someone made a mod with the Imam for Saracens, Berbers & Malians + the Buddhist looking monk for Indians + the East & South East Asian civs.
