AOE II Dawn of the Dukes: Bohemians and Poles

That flag is already in Scenario Editor.

It could be it. It could be also that they connected blacksmith and drop off site together like in AoE I. Maybe Poles can build blacksmith at Dark Age and research all upgrades age earlier ? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

So Poles have 17th century cavalry in middle age? Seems legit…

Edit: Ok it seems unique unit will be infantry not cavalry.

Każdy się spodziewał kawalerii jako unikatowa jednostka Polaków, więc dali piechotę.

no ale to nie pasuje to ciwilizacji

My feelings about it are a bit more complicated than that…

I imagine Szaladon feels the same

You know, I expected them the moment they announced Dawn of the Dukes. I’m not salty at all anymore, I just think that the new civ spots should be used for underused/not well covered world regions.

We’ll have 6 Eastern European civs after Dawn of the Dukes, it’s going to be the architecture set used by the biggest amount of civs which I think is not good for the game as a whole.

I’m probably going to use the feature of getting Dawn of the Dukes for free via preordering AOE4 which I want to try out too. New content for AOE2 is new content, though it still allows me to say my opinion on what new types of civs the game should put priority too.

Am I the only one who sees a polish unit with a warhammer?
And I’m confused, cause warhammers where used by central european forces almost exclusively.

The Polish UU is an infantry unit called Obuch.

There are also some Light Cav units which I suppose are the same as the Imperial Skirmisher of Vietnamese and work as Team bonus.

Turkish Polish Hussar would be kinda funny 11

not like that, we always had ■■■■ infantry and very good cav

But that’s an axe, not a warhammer.
This would make so much more sense.

I’m just saying what the store page says.

It’s called Obuch, should have been called Nadziak (warhammer combined with horseman’s pick). Wasn’t uncommon at all in late medieval polish armies, but rather with knights. Regardless it’s a nice new unit, we must not complain.

No you do not, they have no Muskets, which was the signature weapon of the Dahomey Amazons.

The official website in Steam says that the “Obuch” tear down enemy armor…

Could it be that the Obuch permanently lower the armor rating of their opponents? That would be an interesting idea, if they are priced correctly.

That’s what it sounds like to me. It’s like the Leitis (thematically appropriate, I have to say), but as a permanent drop in armor stats that works for any unit.

In german it says it pierces it. And I think it’s actually the right call. Leitis on foot.

I hope they will also reflect the winged hussars in the game then.
