AOE II Dawn of the Dukes: Bohemians and Poles

I just downloaded the expansion and now AOE won’t start up from my computer. If you someone could help it would be much appreciated

Agreed, I would like if they took this out and kept it for the Georgians perhaps.
I love using the beautiful Hussaria, so much so that I don’t even use that knight line tech nor the knights at all. I think it could work beautifully for Georgians.

Maybe you should go into the “bug” section?

I actually think bohemians are an archer civ… Bonus to mining (both!), bonus to spears. Chemistry in castle age makes up for missing thumb ring. The UU synergizes very well with archers, too. Like the monks.

Against infantry (melee) civs you could possibly also go for early HC.

Think also bohemians can be a very solid civ, maybe even an a-tier archer civ.

What do others think about that conclusion?

You were right from the begining. Cysion confirmed that gold generated by stone miners ( before release we though is just some sort of bonus for stone mining ) is reference to Polish saltmines :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks was really hoping for a mounted skirmisher or a mounted xbow unit too.

Is it me or devs did not add player icons with new civs unique units?

So we got a pagan shrine, a Leitis hero with an axe, animal skeleton (may have been before), new statue column. I think that’s about it.

Poles are really weird to play and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.
They’re sort of giving me Berber vibes but worse unit roster but with better eco.
I honestly really don’t like the reduced gold cost of knights and I wish they had some kind of buff instead of a cost reduction.
I get the purpose of it though, since the devs are trying to create a medium cavalry civ in a game where civs either are light or heavy cavalry.
I need to play with them more I think before I make any proper judgements, but I find them quite odd to play so far.

I actually prefer that, it makes them more unique, and personally i hope that all new civs feel like that!

I’d rather they keep this for Georgia instead.

Yeah, saw that vid with OrnLu! I was :“Yeah, boy knows history”. Haha.

I played as Poles, but the effect seems buggy. I did receive gold, but the ratio seemed to vary. My guess it’s somewhere about 1 gold per 10 stone

I would rather see Georgia getting a special knight upgrade instead that doesn’t cost gold and can fight on as dismounted.

True, there are still a lot that the devs could use to scalpt a strong knight civ for Georgia.

Time for Rus’, Poles, Bohemians and Bulgarians to team in 4v4s and crush the world

I do think Poles may be a little OP with their cheap Obuch and 30 gold knights however hahaha

Anyone else notice this?

Hussite company.
Interesting tactic using these Hussites.

They will need to update the AI so it can figure out hussite wagons are used as decoy to preserve other units.
