Thanks, that’s a shame because I always found them far more useful from fortress age onwards. In age 2 I’d rather just have musks even with the poruchiks getting buffed, poruchiks were great at defending cannons later on though which is where they shined I guess they will be a bit worse at that now.
Here are some of the bug fixes and polish (not Polish) the latest PUPdates implemented.
Activating the Capitol from the Brazil or South Africa revolutions’ cards now provides a 50% discount to Knighthood and Peerage (formerly 20%). Behind the scenes they tweaked these revolt Capitol techs so Brazil’s should function now.
Sebastopol Mortars are now affected by the Improved Cannon Trade tech, which overrides their cost to 550 gold and 450 influence. There are new shadow techs to override unit costs after researching both Improved Cannon Trade and the Arab Alliance techs, which I presume is a fix to the extremely cheap Gatling Camel screenshot floating around, but I haven’t playtested this yet.
Edit: Georgian voice lines for Russia’s Georgian Hussars card are in the files now, but not fully rigged up and it still uses a Russian voice set in this PUP build.
Fixes for the Argentina revolt disabling Lombards and Taverns look to be in the works but may not be in the current build. (There’s a new revolt version of the tavern card which doesn’t remove it from villagers, but I didn’t see it hooked up in the homecity files.)

I don’t think you understand how oppressive those guys are. Range is the single most powerful stat in the game, FP dominate all ranged engagements. If the upgrade that makes your unit the best skirmisher in game is too expensive for you, idk what to say.
Same status with 2 range becomes best skirm? Your feeling? Why don’t you say they can stealth therefore we should nerf them?
Abus only 18 range they well trade with all skirm you said nothing to them.
Do you remember revnak said Malta crossbow full upgrade is the most well trade unit? ~40% you can search back if you forget. (Again not saying Malta is OP)

I do tend to agree, if FP are too good now just nerf how much Conservative Tactics helps them. Reducing the base stats is not needed. They were fine for a long time, but never needed to be buffed.
Huad has weaker cav so they need better skirms.

Can we give the pavisier +1 range with the guard upgrade instead of with the imperial upgrade so it can achieve 19 range in industrial like the arbalester can. Would help a bit now considering all the nerfs italy will be getting.

May I suggest you Devs that consider putting a build limit to Giant Grandiers between 12 or 24 like natives, I mean, is historically based for obvious reasons, that they were a “selected” group of individuals with high stature. Gameplay wise they can keep their strong punch but they won’t replace all your infantry combat group or even artillery, so people cant build just entire armies of them. Obviously, put that build limit detail in the homecity tooltips or any other building that can produce them.

Spending 1500 gold and sending a letter (from the advanced church) to get 15% off is just horrible.
At age 3 (when you will use mercenary) the cards are worth around 1000 resources, so if you send this letter from the advanced church at age 3, and have to pay another 1500, it means that you spent 2500 resources to get 15% discount . Sending a cavalry combat card (worth 1000 resources) gives 15% increased attack and hit points for comparison.
The reduction in the price of cards by 50%, I don’t know if it’s worth it.

So since range is such an issue, and i agree it’s one of the most important stats for infantry, why leave the ranger at 22 range then? And why is the longbow men acceptable at an even higher range?
Man if you know him from beginning of DE… you will know his comment is full of bias…he just wants the civs he doesn’t like everything to be underground bottom…
He can say Haud has strong eco because infinite crate cards…
For one, we don’t want all units to be the same. Range is also an interesting stat, small differences like +2 or the like typically reward micro and aren’t such big of a deal at low skill levels.
Longbows have indeed nice range, but they don’t have the damage output of skirmisher type units and they are not micro friendly. Up until brits got the ranger, they were fairly hard countered by masses of HI.
The fact remains that FP will continue to be among the best skirmishers in the game, a nerf of less than 2% isn;t going to have any effect on low level players but will make a huge difference at higher levels.
