I think we should just show our interest to the developers, and then they themselves will come up with a detailed balance and possibly a more accurate concept
If we’re going Eastern Europe again, I’d definitely pick those two civs. No idea however how to make Poland authentic and not cover either Lithuanians or Magyars with their boni though.
great, but trust me there is literally hordes of threads showing interest in x or y or z civ. they know there’s interest.
frankly i’m less then enthused with there decision with what civs to represent as is with the first DLC, as Africa or South Asia would have been better choices.
and that’s part of the problem, a lot of Poland is already covered by Slavs/Magyars/Lithuanians.
Yeah, like painting a wall with your fingers and expecting it to be good
hardly the only ones to get such treatment. they can’t appease everyone without adding too many civs to balance.
You think that Poles are represented good enough by 3 non Polish civilizations? Makes little sense. There are great differences between Poland and the others
i could say the same of Indians, Chinese, Saracens, Celts, Goths, and others and how they are portrayed.
As I said before, they are less different than what I was comparing
that is purely according to you.
don’t get me started on how badly the Aztecs and Mayans are portrayed either.
I’m confused, in short, I’m for dividing the Slavs into the Moscow principality, the Polish kingdom and Kievan Rus.
Moscow principality of the Rus
and i’d rather underrepresented areas like South Asia and Africa get more civs then add more EU (yes, i think Burgundians and Sicilians are stupid too).
Rus is a historical region not a state
Kievan Rus can be discarded finally giving them to the Lithuanians(I mean only the time after the 13th century, and in the early middle ages to give them a second plan in favor of novgorod and moscow)
Man i respect you and respect everyone who want to see their country/nation in the game, ofcourse everyone want that to his nation, but it is not as you think.
This game is based on balance and until now we have many problems about balance not only from the 4 new civs, but even from civs that were in the game 20 years ago! Furthermore we have recently many lags problems and bugs want to be fixed, i really liked what memebTV said after this stupid addition for 2 new civs, membTV said “we love game? I don’t think anymore”. Not only memb, even the pros none of them were happy for this or agree for it especially we already got 4 new civs there was no need at all for this, i really wonder how the devs thinking sometimes?!
I’m pretty sure Forgotten Empires thought that through. It probably means that non-DLC owners will have to update their game with the new civs though, increasing the file size so that non-DLC owners will be able to play with DLC owners in the Ranked Queue.
Non-DLC owners will probably not be able to pick the new civs, but that’s pretty much normal. Why would you purchase a DLC with new civs otherwise? MP getting new civs for free wouldn’t be fair towards the SP crowd.
They will be balanced in due time, though usually they’re stronger at the beginning so that people trying them out are not at a too big disadvantage.
They were surprised, not unhappy. Hera was actually quite excited for the new civs, at least it seemed so. I’ve seen also some positive feedback in regards to Microsofts commitment towards AOE2:DE from some smaller streamers like Ornlu (wasn’t very happy with the region they picked though which I can understand).
Also patches and events aren’t free either. I don’t mind paying every year 10 bucks for the support towards this game in terms of patches, balance changes and new content.
There wasn’t any need for them, NO NEED
Agree to disagree. New civs are nice. I would have preferred some from lesser crowded regions in the world, but I happily buy new content for my favourite game.
It’s not like I wouldn’t get my money’s worth.
And why are you talking about money? Well i don’t mind too to buy the game, but there is something we call Priorities.
Which is more priority, fixing the game and creating balance, or adding more empty flashiness that brings nothing but imbalance and more faults and bugs?! The game already have tons of things need to be fixed and need a big balance between the civs
