For the Suebi I think they can make a good civilization.
The Alaman didn’t move from Germany and were rapidly conquered by the Franks.
Last November I made a post for the future of Roman civilization and a Barbarian invasions DLC proposal
I think a DLC featuring 3 civilizations (Vandal, Suebi, Roman) and 4 campaigns (Vandal, Suebi, Clovis (Frank) and Aegidius (Roman, already exist on the workshop) will be good to relate the fall of the Western Roman Empire because there all that still lack : Roman campaign, Frank campaign (featuring a lot of Axe thrower). Vandal need more than a scenario in Victors and vanquished and the Suebi traveled much.
The other barbarian kingdoms didn’t make conquest (old Burgundian and Alaman) and the late barbarian kingdoms are better to use in a Charlemagne DLC (Langobard and Saxon).
I think it’s good to put the romain civilization in this barbarian invasion DLC because after the release of Chronicles the future of Return of Rome is beyond hope. I enjoyed to play this campaigns but less than AoE2 and Chronicles campaigns. The best I enjoyed in Return of Rome is … playing against the Romans in the Attila and Alaric campaign ! It’s good tho give an option this buy the Roman civilization without have to buy Return of Rome in which the AoE1 content interest not much people.
Also I want a counter to the fire galley who don’t explode.
Of course I remember, but all these Germanic tribes would probably make sense in a DLC of the Chronicles series. That way they can indulge a bit and not have to worry too much about competitive multiplayer.
You could do a whole DLC on Charlemagne, why not.
The funny thing is that the French call the Germans les Allemands.
In xs scripting, allow us to retrieve specific unit position. Also querying units of all units in the map by player, building class names, etc. Even allowing us to access their critical values like positions, unit id, etc.
I guess I am the only one, but fire ship should be a byzantine -only technology. there should be something replacing it anywhere else. And Byzantines should be OP on water in small radius around their harbors.
Honestly i agree with that.
Because it’s their thing. Should have been their unique unit just like greekfire for towers. This is greekfire for ships. We only miss the land one.
Maybe our @Szaladon can tell us more about it? If the devs want to introduce the Mississippians as a further native civ, I would even be in favor of recruiting @Szaladon as a hero unit in platform mounds… Fun has to be…
Someone did a real solid Mississippians Civ concept writeup awhile ago (I linked it in this thread a few days ago) that I would recommend. Good campaign ideas as well.
The Fire Ship can be a UU for the Byzantine. There could be a boarding ship to take the role of the current Fire Ships for other civs, chasing and approaching eveny ships and fighting in melee.
The Korean Turtle should have good resistance to the boarding ship like how it did in history.
Siam = Tai peoples? (Dai, Thai, Isan etc.)
Champa = Chams (or Champa people). This is easy.
Kongo its fine, or if you want to generalise, you can include the Bantu. Since Swahilis is a Bantu language.
But Dahomey? I read that the kingdom flourished in the 17th century, so it is out of the question.
Surprised that the Songhai were not already included.
Instead of the Ghanaians, I can write the Dagomba no? As for the Swahili, aren’t they Bantu?
I can find no reference to the Kanems instead.
It should be spelled Chimú, but I have already put it in the post. As well as the Purépecha.
Rightly so, the Mixtecs subjugated by the Aztecs. I must add.
