The An Lushan Rebellion would be a fascinating topic set in the Tang dynasty.
OK, thanks; I’ve managed to translate all texts in the scenario, and the texts of the introduction, but I’ve seen that the images used there are defined like this:
- I’ve created a JSON for introductory texts, copied from yours; it contains a path to images, which is “textures/campaign/Journey to the West/intro/%d.png”; there is a “outro” folder for images used in the ending.
- I’ve tried to create a new subfolder into the one containing the campaign, scenario and JSON file, named “images”, in which I’ve copied your “intro” and “outro” folders which I found in the folder “C:\Users\Amministratore\MYUSERNAME\Age of Empires 2 DE\RANDOMNUMBER\mods\subscribed\1311_A Journey to the West\widgetui\textures”.
- If I leave original path in the JSON, all works, but the images are taken from your campaign.
- If I edit the path into “images/intro/%d.png”, it does not work.
Obviously, I can’t depend on your original folder, because users could download my translated version of your scenario without downloading the original; what am I doing wrong?
Update: I’ve managed to use the correct data, by creating a new directory under
C:\Users\USERNAME\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\RANDOM\mods\local
named “Il Viaggio in Occidente”: now, introduction is loaded correctly. I’ve a last problem: when I open the scenario for editing, AI is wrong, because I suppose the correct one should be the one in
resources_common\ai
but, in the editor, it shows the “Standard” AI, which causes some problems when I try the scenario, because, for example, units start moving, and the “Go upriver” trigger starts, even if it shouldn’t. Is it a bug in the editor, or the AI files should be made visible in some way?
Hey @grigor003, if you haven’t figured this out yet: after subscribing, it’s under Custom Campaigns, and then you select the campaign you want from the dropdown.
I played the Three Kingdoms campaign and would like to report a bug: Chu Ko Nu and archers have the same hotkey in archery ranges.
Nice scenario tho!
Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about this since the hotkey assignment is based on units and cannot be changed through the scenario editor, but thank you for reporting it.
Wow! These are really well done and very enjoyable to play! Thank you for creating them
Great sea serpent too!
Hey guys, wanted to share this Let’s Play highlights video of my Komnenos - The Byzantine Restoration custom scenario, done by a small youtube channel called LemmingAid. His American Southern drawl and humor made great additions to this short video!
If you weren’t sure whether you’d want to play this scenario, I think you’ll be more interested after seeing his highlights video! You can check it out via the in-game mod manager or here!
Hey guys, my latest scenario is out now! This is my 11th custom scenario for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition so be sure to check out the others if you haven’t already!
Witness the rise of the Khmer Empire as you battle the Chen’la, Champa, Tai, and other peoples to rule the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap Lake. Be crowned the god-king of the Khmer and build wonders that will stand the test of time.
Features:
- Fully voice acted scenario brings the story of the Khmer conquests to life
- Choose to support the priests, the nobles, or the farmers and reap the benefits of your choice
- Complete objectives to unlock new kings in the history of the Khmer Empire
Found it to be too difficult. I was getting swamped by orange and grey while i was killing off red. No chance to survive. Start is too slow imho.
Been a while since I’ve posted anything, but wanted to keep you guys updated that I’ve been working on two new scenarios. Here’s a sneak peek on one:
Constantinople has been a shadow of its former self after the Latin Crusaders sacked it two and a half centuries before, but, in the year 1453, Emperor Constantine XI is optimistic as the schism between the Eastern and Western churches ends. Some Catholic priests have come to the Hagia Sophia to give mass to Constantine’s German bodyguards. The ruins of the Hippodrome can still be seen.
Looks promising! Hoping the other one involves playable Longbowman 11. Keep up the good work!
Why is he optimistic? The Ottoman Turks are closing in on all sides…notwithstanding the possible reconciliation of the two Churches…
The Theodosian Walls have withstood besiegers and kept the city safe for over a millennium. What makes the Ottoman Turks in 1453 any different? What could they possess that could tear down the walls that withstood centuries of previous attackers?
Yes that too. But the city had never been reduced to such a small territory as when Mehmet II was at their doorstep.
I guess I don’t know how to advance in Francis Drake. I’ve explored everywhere and completed the objective, it says to delete the Pascha, so I do. Nothing progresses me to the next mission, though.
After game concludes, I can only Return to Main Menu, Return to Map, or Play Again. If I go back to main menu and back into Campaigns, it still only shows “Land Ho!” as the only mission to choose from. If I hit “Play Again,” it takes me back to the completed, fully explored map and lets me play more in free mode.
I love the fact professional developers keep enriching the game. Speaking about future scenarios, I would love:
- a campaign about old Russia. I have though about it and could be devided in 6 scenarios:
1: the settlement of Vikings in Novgorod and the conquest of the Slavic/Khazar city of Kiev, leading to the birth of Kievan Rus (862 882)
2: the failed attempt to go to the South (allied with Petchenegs), in Bulgaria (968)
3: Battle on the Ice (lake Peipous) (1242), where Novgorod army (Allied with Mongols) lead by Alexander Nevski won against the Teutonic order
4: after the Mongol conquest, the battle of Kulikovo (1380), where the Moscow state liberated itself from the Tatars
5: The Moscovian conquest of Novgorod and of some Lithuanian territories (1478 - 1508)
6: the conquest of the tatars cities of Kazan and Astrakhan (1552 1556) - some forgotten battles, such as:
1: Grundwald (1410), the largest battle of the middle ages, where Polish and Lithuanians won against the Teutonic order
2: the battle of Yarmouk (636), arab great victory against the byzantines
3: battle of Talas (751), arab and Tibetan victory against Chinese and Persian
Thanks for your awesome work!
It’s a single scenario campaign, Darkness01101. There is no second mission. All of my campaigns submitted so far are single scenario.
I am looking forward to play this campaign!!!
Ohhhh, sorry about that! Well, it was quite enjoyable. Thank you!
I would love to request for a Korean Campaign if possible. Thanks for the campaigns, enjoying them a lot. Keep them coming <3
