Yeah nice one, not even having tried them yourself properly and only because someone else is taking a quick look over he changes and says they’re still bad, this must be the final truth. Do you think hera has every number in his head? 2.0 ROF means that they shoot as fast as arbs/CA, while having 350 HP, up to 9 pierce armor. They will deal decent damage while being unkillable by arbs and hard to kill by paladins.
At least for TG flank they’re very viable now. But yeah go ahead complaining without trying first.

Let’s get to actual fruitful discussion on the unit now, instead of discussions on the specific wording of the topic, which is a waste of energy and time.
My early thoughts about elephant archers:
I have tried the elephant archers in two team game matches and so far they’re actually insane. If you manage to mass around 20-30 they’re really hard to stop. In one match I had a british ally who massed longbows behind, and that actually made us pretty much unstoppable. An enemy guy was goths and starting spamming huskalrs but EAs eat huskalrs LOL, I didn’t expect that. Only real counter is siege onagers I guess. EAs are tanky so they can even take out heavy cavalry more or less. Halberdiers are much less effective now, although if you can spam it continously they can slowly start taking out EAs, the only problem is that Indians will also likely begin reinforcing. I think currently EAs are in a good place regarding teamgames. If you mass them they’re really hard to stop but that applies for many other units aswell and they have counters. Need to try them in 1v1s though.
There’s a huge difference between analyse and testing. Many top players said that the 35% discount on infantry for goth was useless and guess what… they got wrong! You don’t need to be good in analysis the patchnote to be good at this game… It helps but it’s not required
Hera often overeact to patchNote (example : plume archer nerf)
I prefer 3 up in a row to EA to make them decent/good than a big up, one awful month with OP EA and then a nerf the next month. We do not need a steppe-lancer-like balance…
It means try them first instead of making posts an hour after a patch just because a pro player said ‘they are still trash’ in a 10 second read. I think you suggested for a gold discount last week, and they delivered and they’re also better in combat now. I don’t get why you’re complaining without your own experience.
