And can you name the battles, locations, armies,…? You simply can’t. We only know there was a war betwen them and thats it.
The lack of knowledge of Mayan history doesn’t prohibid the addition of African and Asian civs.
You were talking only about American civs. I just said european civs are easier to make and more popular. For the asian civs, most of them are already covered, being the second continent with the most civs so i don’t think it’s a big issue.
And imo african civs aren’t that interesting during aoe2 timeline (except for the northern african ones.)
I wasn’t talking about American civs, I was responding to Juggernaut what could be the Mayan campaign. Also there is no proof European civs are more popular than others.
Its not hard to see, just scroll up a bit.
Considering 2 of the last 3 DLC were eurpean civs this is a quite big % of people.
That judt means they want to add more European. It doesnt say when or ask about non european civs
There was a poll a few months ago about which region should be next. Europe was near tbe bottom
We already had an Asian DLC its obvious that it would go up.
MatCauthon3’s reddit post is more valid as he has 600 votes on Reddit and it clearly shows Euro civs are unpopular.
After we got like 5 of 6 civs in DE being mostly european I’m not surprised by that actually 11
600 votes doesn’t really represent aoe2 player base.
Are they really more popular?
As you can see almost all active players bought DOI within 2 months of release.
You can’t compare… They added 3 civilizations which are pretty original and have more unique units than usual.
One of those dlcs was free with aoe4. Both have had multiple sales. Doi has been out a fracgion of the time
As i just mentioned you can’t compare the last DLCs with dinasties of India, it’s a lot more content…
And has been available a lot less time too.
Please stop with this “civ x deserves more”, “no, civ y deserves more” nonsense. This is all irrelevant and fighting over it is childish. As I said earlier, every civ in the game period, with at least 1 kingdom already “deserves” to be part of it (and that includes the Serbs too).
The reason DLC outside of Europe is in demand is because Europe is crowded at the moment compared to other places and it becomes increasingly difficult to add something really new there. While there are unexplored locations in the world that could yield new/interesting mechanics.
The devs don’t use these “requirements” (population, kingdom length etc) above to add any civ. They went for what they thought was new and fun, it’s a game after all. So stop this silly bickering.
Also stop calling others racist. Racism is a very serious thing for you to go around accusing others because of personal preferences. All I see here is ignorance and wounded egos.
And what else would the game require?
What do you think racism is? Hint: it’s not just someone saying racist slurs or directly racist laws.
Let’s take this idea a step further.
What if you played out this campaign as both Mayans and Toltecs taking the reigns of both sides of this conflict.
It would be like if the Montezuma campaign let you play as the Conquistador forces a few times throughout the campaign or if you played as some British during Joan in the 100 years war. Suddenly the demand for a Britons campaign is fulfilled as well.
In this way you satiate the campaign requirements two for one and only had to make one campaign.
