I thought I read a moderator stating that it would be a superpatch.
Maybe weâll get lucky and when Age of Mythology:Retold is finished, some developers will come back.
The game lags (not network related, apparently a ram leak) if you donât restart after a team game. Anyone who buys the game and experiences this would not know to restart their game and simple think the game runs poorly. Why would they continue playing the game?
We have encountered that after opening the first game for many times, someone failed to load and dropped the line. Obviously, this is not because the game has been leaking memory leak for a long time. Besides, is it still a problem that should be fixed if the game cannot continue?
My 2 cents on this are, just like aoe 1 is being ported into 2 de engine, thus technically retaining support, its the same with aoe3 de and aom retold, by sharing the engine with multiple games they make supporting all the titles much more managable, you think its a coincedence many aom mechanics were added to 3 de with africa etc. That was them preparing the 3 de version of bang to support an aom remaster as well, that way any bug fixes etc. apply for both games without much adjustment
Is there any steam historian who knows what the âmicrosoft_build_finalâ branch does?
For the previous PUPs I only see updates to those âtantalus-staging-playtest/finalâ branches.
The last time those were updated was leading up to KotM.
Now that smells suspicious.
I wonât get excited until I see a 9 in the DLC section.
Something that @KG19991380 touched on is since AoMRE is using the same engine as 3DE it could also be related to that in some capacity.
It could be either/or but Iâm leaning towards a DLC.
The stark imbalances of some civs in this game lead to major breakdowns of new players enjoyment. This makes the game less viable.
I play 1v1, about 1/3 of my matches are lamer civs.
It drives my elo far below my skill level. As a result newer players get blized into oblivion whenever they are matched w me or anyone else in my general range.
Over the long run it kills the game to new players.
A dlc doesnât overcome the damage this does to the playerbase. They should make some sincere effort to fix it. Unless the devs play as swede, China, ott mains. If thatâs the case they probably think everything is great.
Someone should change his id to ânew playerâ for better credibility.
If itâs true that AoM:Retold is being made on AoE3:DE engine, then it would make no sense to abandon AoE3:DE. Quite the opposite; there is potential for significant engine upgrades coming in âfor freeâ off the AoM:Retold budget to AoE3:DE as well.
Only thing that I want from AoM:Retold - the Home City card system!
I agree those three civs seem to be incredibly lame, along with USA FF into gatling gun spam which also seems popular. By âlameâ I mean very hard to beat and requiring far less skill to win with. And yet I donât know if that is actually the case because I NEVER play those civs because I have to look at myself in the mirror every day. However I cannot explain the fact that the win rate appears to be not as high as I would expect given their apparent lameness. I do feel that to balance out the advantages those civs have which come from auto generating troops/villagers/resources from buildings, thus reducing the skill required to play them, that they should be weaker to compensate. If they fall to the bottom of the civ tier list, so what? Some civ has to be at the bottom and it might as well be the civs who have been at the top for so long. Give some other civs some time at the âtopâ.
Are die-hard AOM players really open to this idea? If so, that would be great.
I hope they fix the animation of the trees that simulate being moved by the wind.
Asia is comingâŠhow damn close we areâŠ
Interesting point indeed. It would have to do more with performance and graphics and not content tho, but better than a âdead gameâ
Not at all, just explore the discussion section on the forum and no one even dares to bring it up. If you do Id up vote you
For real?
Do you have more info on this long-awaited DLC?
I wouldnât be so sure about that. Our game style in the current AOM does not need this.
