Just like Normans are covered even better by Franks and Vikings but got added anyway.
Most likely, there are only two civs just as beforeā¦
Yes,but with aoe 3 they can take creative liberties and confuse the community so that side they are going to goā¦f.e. we said that Morocco was coming and they put Mexico as civ xdā¦
In fact in Porto,Portugal was born Henry the Navigator (Portuguese leader in aoe 3) and who financed all the Portuguese ultramarines expeditions of the first half of the fifteenth centuryā¦
Just a minor correction, but Somalis arenāt a Bantu-speaking ethnic group, unlike the Swahili. Somali is an Afroasiatic language.
If weāre going to get more African civilizations, I hope they cover the southern half of the continent. The Shona of Great Zimbabwe would be dope, as would the Swahili and maybe the Bakongo.
Also, African rainforest maps with creatures like the bongo, okapi, and leopard would be neat (Iāve always been partial to the wildlife in Age games).
The fact that OP uses Fabrizio Romano tagline confirms Venetians. xD
If Porto has something to do with Portuguese, then it could be the coastal civs that they interacted with like in the Almeida campaign. Another hint is that the DLCs have had a theme of adding a campaign for a civ that hasnāt had one yet, plus 2-3 new civs & campaign packages. DotD even had all 3 campaigns tie into each other.
Civs without full campaigns (yet):
East Asia: Chinese, Koreans & Japanese
Eastern Europe: Magyars & Slavs
Northern Europe: Vikings
Middle East: Turks & Persians
Americas: Mayans
Even though Portuguese made it all the way to Japan, if they would do an East Asia DLC, then they would have to add all 3 campaigns for Chinese, Koreans & Japanese.
This makes me speculate if there will be 4 new campaigns, but with how many new civs?
if you use the usual 1 existing civ + 3 new civs & 4 new campaigns, you get:
Win with new civs (= 3), new civ UU or unique building achievements (= 3), beat all new campaigns (= 4), which makes 10, 21 - 10 = 11 to split among 4 campaigns?
If itās 4 new civs:
Win with new civs (= 4), new civ UU or unique building achievements (= 4), beat all new campaigns (= 4)
21 - 12 = 9 achievements to split among 4 campaigns?
or it could be 2 existing civs + 2 new ones:
Win with new civs (= 2), new civ UU or building (= 2), beat all new campaigns (= 4)
21 - 8 = 13, which is one more than 3x4 for achievements per campaign. Maybe one of the new civs then has unique building & UU achievement?
Ok then! Weāre back to zero.
Yes,but they inhabit more or less the same geographical area, although the Somalis are mostly from coastal areas and the Swahilis more from the savannah further inlandā¦
As long as we get something like kanem, congo, chimu, wari, dravidians or bengalis, Iām happy either way.
Swahili actually comes from the Arabic word for coasts and the language and people are found south of Somalia along the East coast of Africa from Kenya down to northern Mozambique and many of the islands nearby (Zanzibar, the Comoros, Kilwa, etc.) Swahili did spread as a lingua franca due to trade with other kingdoms and peoples further inland, however.
11 it has been so funny to read the entire post
My bet is that itās going to be 2 new civ related between them but nothing to do with Porto (or Portugueses)
But the new DLC will open new game modes, thatās the reason for more achievements
Iām looking forward for the new UU and new skins
I hope devs announce the new DLC soon, they already have my money
If Porto is an unrelated red herring, I have no idea where the game could go next. Hopefully not Europe again, at least not at the moment, but I wouldnāt mind the Caucasus. My favorites would probably be India, East Asia or Africa.
What do you mean the usual 3 new civs & 4 campaigns? The last 2 dlc had 2 civs and 3 campaigns, and all the previous ones had either 4 or 5 civs. As for the number of campaigns, I think only tAK and RotR had 4, but neither of those were for pre-existing factions.
Thereās also a possibility of an old campaign being reworked for a new faction (Dracula for the Vlachs/Romanians or Prithviraj for the Rajputs/Rajasthani, two things I would love to see happen) and receiving new achievements for completing specific tasks in the reworked missions, while we get other campaigns for new and old civs.
Just a working hypothesis which isnāt wishful thinking by any means (why would you think that?).
We get a new civ, the Rajputs, but instead of getting a new campaign Prithviraj campaign is reworked into a Rajput one. The old achievement for completing the campaign remains, and would be the same for the old and new version, but you would get 3 achievement for completing secondary tasks on the new version + 1 for winning a game playing as the Rajputs + 1 for completing a specific task relying on Rajput mechanics in any game. We are at 5.
The current Indian faction would receive a new campaign focusing on the Delhi Sultanate or Mughal Empire, which the div represent better than it does the Rajput states. Letās say itās a campaign for Babur. We have 1 achievement for completing the campaign and 3 for specific secondary missions in said campaign. We are now at 9 achievements.
Now, weāre left with 12. Letās assume there are 2 additional new factions, such as Bengalis and Tamils/Cholas/Dravidians. In the last 2 dlc, each new faction systematically received 6 achievement (1 for playing a game as said faction, 1 for using one of its mechanics, 1 for doing its campaign and 3 for specific campaign tasks).
Yeah, it would fit perfectly⦠Itās probably not going to happen, but I had way too much fun thinking about it not to share this.
I would love someting new regarding Portugal and the Maghreb. But deep down, and with a higher desire, I want new campaigns and content for Central America and South America.
I meant the usual 1 campaign plus new campaigns each for 3 new civs. I know that the last 2 DLCs had only 3 new campaigns & 2 new civs each.
- Trade Workshop
- Each civ own castle
- Regional monks
- real LAN Modus
- fire tower in imperial age
- new building sets
- new user interface in menu and civ selection
(Nee overall fitting User-Interface) - every campaign co-op playable
- tons of new editor stuff
- tons of Bugfixes
- ludicrous map renamed to Epic
- 3 new civs, 1 African, American and Asian.
- DIED UNITS TURN INTO SKELETONS AND LAY ON THE GROUND FOR A WHILE
So anybody can just tell how much time its taken from putting this update on Steam to the official announcement?
Each new campaign brings new achievementsā¦
we need also new common techs
