Is anyone else having as much trouble with the 'magical cannons' as I am?

Says the guy who 3rd parties every conversation they can to nitpick other people’s posts.
Try harder. You aren’t achieving anything.

How about not being able to attack the crew? Isn’t that immersion breaking as well?

Which book did you get that quote from? I wanna read it.

Was it for you in AOE3 or AOM?

As an aoe 2 player, this never bothered me in that game, so can’t imagine it would in this. Far more important to me that the unpacking an packing proces is smoth and responsive.

I haven’t played AoE3 or AOM, I come from a SC2/AoE2 background, which is why I’m curious, as it seems just as immersion breaking to have units you can’t interact with.

Whats that opinion based on then? Watching others play it? Pure theorycrafting?

I mean you opened up your own topic about it… seems to be a pretty important topic to you:

They usually (always?) live and die with the siege machine.

What opinion? I asked a question.

Actualy, no!

In history, the crew of siege weapons are killed first, but the siege weapon stay.

Enemy normaly capture siege weapon and use it for his own purpose.

Normaly, the losing army try to sabotage their siege weapon, befor retreating, since sieage weapons are slow to move.

I think he was talking about the video game, not about a real situation.

I’m talking just about the units in our games.

Sory for my mistake, maybe i spoke whit to much passion and did not read.

Well it’s still a point, since we’re talking about immersion. Realism and historical accuracy go hand in hand with it. Who would attack a siege weapon and ignore the siege engineers, the most valuable members in the enemy army, who are just next to it.

If anyone is curious enough about the franchise to think about potential features for this sequel, I implore you to play each of the existing five games. It’s much easier when we all have the same reference points.

Right, people who haven’t played all the games should not have the right to request features.

I wouldn’t go that far, haha.

There is a big problem with that, this is a age of empires game made by relic who already have 2 big RTS, people from those others communities will be also interested in age IV, there are also other RTS communities, you can’t please all but you can’t focus on just one also (age2)

According to Microsoft, Relic was hire to create a modern Age of Empires, I would expect some “new” features to modernize the saga…

I literally don’t care.

I don’t get it. Where do all these larpers come from? “Not immersed enough” what is wrong with you? Aoe is an RTS. Stuff like this don’t matter at all. Not buying a rts game because of lack of little men around seems like a weird unhealthy obsession, but im sure there’s better ways to continue with your larping elsewhere.
