It's Mexico

Pleasantly surprised I was pretty sure it was Morroco.

I dont understand the revolution mechanic though sounds really bonkers!

Seeing how they are giving both US and Mexico pretty modern weapons and also actually making them do their modern stuff (you had the pistolero with a revolver, but didnt acutally shoot 6 times, but now you have a new cowboy type unit which shoots almost instantly) I want to see Europe get modern weapons too.

Breech-loaders, howitzers like actual howitzers that also damage troops, revolvers, machine guns, like gatling gun. Might as well just add a 6th age to the game with world war 1.

I personally disagree, I would like to see civs that arenā€™t included not even with the revolutions, but thatā€™s fine.

What actually bothered me is that they introduced a lot of nonsense things. I mean, itā€™s already a civ that itā€™s going to be controversial, and that will disappoint a bunch of fans, at least try to make it serious.

Month of waiting for thisā€¦

Mexico is honestly the worst possible option they could have picked. They are basically mutually exclusive with the Aztecs since they have the exact same home city.

Not exactly, mexico is not the same as aztecs, they have an identity that is born from their prehispanic times but with a lot of spanish influence and its own cultura developement, as all latin nations.

Mexicans are not Aztecs and vice versa. We got Americans too, Mexico is just another civ which follows the ā€œAmericanā€ civ design.

Theyā€™ve done the ā€œerrorā€ already with the introduction of the United States. I think Mexicans are a cool addition to the game, though I can understand why some people arenā€™t happy with the civ choice.

I personally would have preferred Maori getting into the game.

The Spanish have been in the game since 2005. They represented Latin America.

Then we also shouldnā€™t have gotten the USA following that logic. The scope of the game is now from the 1450s to the late 19th century which is fine IMO

Iā€™m not saying they are the same. Iā€™m saying they canā€™t exist at the same time. Mexico City is built on the ruins of the Aztec capital. Now weā€™re going to have two different factions with the same home city.

Why is this a problem?

In AOE2:DE we have a similar ā€œissueā€ with Goths and Spanish/Portuguese.

Tbh I think the design isnt that overdesigned once we already have the US age up. The number of UUs is excesive, but other than that seems good

Pretty exciting! Iā€™d prefere Italy, but Mexico fits AoE III much better. Especially after (fairly) recent addition of US.

Is there a December PUP patch notes available yet?

On one hand it is somewhat disappointing some of the most requested civs havenā€™t been added but on the other we did get a highly requested African DLC. Perhaps these single civ DLCā€™s are meant to expand the game more to include the new world. Who knows, maybe weā€™ll get more TAR like DLCs in the future with these new world civs sprinkled within.

Microsoft has more data than we do so itā€™s possible they know a Mexico civ will do well enough financially to justify supporting the game.

The inclusion of USA didnā€™t destroy the game like many doomsayers were saying and I doubt Mexico will either. AoEIII ceased to be a game soley about European colonization of the new world when TAD came out.

I like that devs choose Mexico. This is really interesting choice. Age of 3 De is getting pure classic for me

YES, a package of south american civ would be great!

SI! un paquete de civilizaciones sudamericanas seria genial!!!

EDIT: OMG I hadnā€™t noticed the amount of people complaining about the addition of new content, it seems they would be happier with the circle of osseus and the lake of the moon xD by godā€¦ they are all historians here suddenly, ā– ā– ā– ā– . xD canā€™t enjoy anything, bitter people. Go play the original version on Windows XP.

They are fabulous for me. I guess the intention is to please the diversity of tastes. For example, I donā€™t like Sweden or the Netherlands. I like Africans, Ottomans, Aztecs, Indians and Germans.
