It's Mexico

A second revolutionary American civ, I guess we can add that to the list of culture groups now? Before I considered the USA as an European civ. I think this also opens the door for Brazil, didnt they say there was a dev who really wanted to include it?

The age-up bonusses all seem the same each age, making the age-up truly a choice for the best cards. Don’t know if it turns out better than the USA options, the shipment could be a reason to pick the lesser cards I think.
The revolution mechanic is interesting, I wonder how it’ll play out. Seems not viable losing your villagers all the time :stuck_out_tongue:
Hacienda seems pretty strong, there will probably be a build limit on it. Can’t imagine there isnt one.

Soldado is basically what a Grenadier shouldve been…

I think with the USA reveal trailer the age up bonuses were different then what they are currently in the game so I think there is a chance they may change the age up bonuses.

Looks amazing, didn’t really care what civ but just from the overview I can tell I’m going to really enjoy this civ and the new historical battles, can’t wait.

Mexico would be an incredibly interesting civ with their military , cards and reversible revolutions. A great addition to the game

Oh and Mexico isn’t already represented by Aztecs in the same way USA wasn’t represented by the Haudenosaunee .

Mexico, another civilization that intends to make livestock farming viable.

Brazil could be cool, yeah. Maybe we will have other Latin American civs later (Gran Colombia, Peru Bolivia, La Plata…), but I’m also wondering wether or not we may expect Haiti at some point. Despite being a tiny nation, it’s the second oldest post colonial one in the Americas, and their history as being built by former slaves may be quite interesting.

I’m so excited! I love this game shifting away from the archaic. I know everyone loves to say “it starts in 1500” but it ends in 1880. Anything in there is fair game as far as I’m concerned!

id rather have factions that existed the entire or most of the periode than keep adding later and later civs.

but i love the game and will still buy the DLC.

As long as it doesn’t steal the spot of a more deserving civilization I don’t care.

Say what you want but USA but it did give AoEIIIDE a pretty hefty jolt. Hoping the same will be done with Mexico on the heels of AoEIV.

Then we can look forward to what 2022 may bring.

I was skeptical at first but after watching the trailer I’m hyped! Really hope that the Mexican outlaws are available for other civs on certain maps like they did with African ones, and that they add a mercenary version of that musk/gren (the idea for that unit was kinda picked from the forum btw).

If they go full mode on the marketing in general and specially for Mexico this could be impactful for the game even.

If this is in the context of eventually adding Morocco and Italy I’m completely fine with Mexico.

Well ok, Brasil next then.

For devs, having an excuse to historical battle, it justifies putting a new civ in the game

Now I want Brazil and I want any battle against Dutch in Brazilian southeast coast.

Technically it was still Portugal.
But I’m all up for Brasil now.

I know, it was brazilian colonials with Portuguese against Dutch

It’s not my fault if FE and Tantalus gave us a inch, I want a mile now :grinning:

I mean, what’s the excuse now?

How come the 31 states event doesn’t allow you to earn the DLC for free?

They gotta earn somehow. They are constantly creating new cosmetics and updating existing stuff, already giving US civ for free.
It would be almost inappropriate to have this one also be given out for free.

It’s super cheap.
In Poland it’s like 2,75€.

Mexicans, so they have a reason to give historical battles against USA (also giving a room for USA after all they fought against English)
