What is even the point of threads like this?
If you don’t like the game and prefer aoe3 then just go play aoe3, nobody is forcing you to play aoe4. There are plenty of people that are enjoying the game and having fun with it. Yes it has its issues and frustrating moments, but its still fun, it’s getting patched every month, there ate plans for the future to make the game better, and this forum wad made for us to help make the game better and enjoyable, and instead people use it to spread hate and bash the game and the devs 24/7.
What’s the rating for this topic on imdb? Looking forward to the sequel, man. See you on the next goodbye post.
Currently rocking a 8.5/10, could use a little more toxicity but we’re getting there
Aussie lmk bout that cast, if we can get this ■■■■■ to 1v1 me.
in reality the game is a 5.5/10. lack a lot of soul of an aoe and their lack of innovation makes it bland.
LOL. THEM WALLS.
Guess its good they arnt stone? LOLOL
I mean, this is extremely unfair, really. It’s public knowledge from various posters (including Andy) that Council involvement with the game goes back years. Nothing about spending several years working on a game is cheap, nor results in a quick buck.
I get your frustration, but I can’t see this as anything but lashing out.
If you haven’t played [number depends] hours of this game you are not authorized to criticize the game!
The single best way to generate more sales and keep a stable playerbase. Remember this microsoft.
Disclaimer: by using the term “not authorized” I mean someone wants to, or tries to, invalidate your criticism or stop you from commenting. It does not mean that person has the power to do so. Neither does it mean you will be banned or arrested because of your criticism. Neither does it mean the forum and especially relic developers encourage such attitude.
Right on!

Lol I know right. You can’t even tell the difference between units.
What kind of computer are you playing on?
On my computer, if I zoom in, I can even see the units’ eyeballs and the creases on their clothes.
I can also zoom into a vulture and see it’s babies cawing away in their nest. It’s that detailed. Of course, it isn’t hyper realistic, but distinguishing units has never been an issue.
I can’t say you 'll be missed or say I’m sad . I 'll just say you are maybe too soft for e-games in general . go play aoe3 or aoe2 or aom even . just play anything you feel comfortable with just please stop crying and whining . and dont forget to stay hydrated friend . cheers .
Yeah, peace out haters, enjoy your lives
Player count is still dropping. And personally I haven’t played in 1,5 months, just checking back here for updates.
Nothing’s changing so I guess I’ll say goodbye to AoE IV as well.
I gave AoE IV a 7/10 reviewing for a major games website and still think it’s fair for the campaign. But multiplayer is the biggest letdown. Glad I didn’t score it higher, but should’ve done a 6/10.
for the better. you can enjoy other aoe that are better balanced and with more dynamic gameplay than aoe 4.
Where exactly you spot the flauds in aoe4 multi indont get it . the latest patch is how the game should be launched imo. Game atm is at ita best form
safe travels and dont forget to stay hydrated .
AOE3 really is a gem for those who take the time to understand it. I have been playing aoe games since 1997 at 15, I grew up with this franchise, I miss ensemble studios, they would have known how to synergize this right.
I am really glad I did not buy AOE4, as a stream watcher and seeing some of my favorite streamers switch, it just does not hold my interest for very long, I almost never actually watch a match anymore, I may just enter the chat, then leave the page with the screen open to give the streamer support. DE streams though just get better and better with new patches.
There really is just too much for them to have to change it would have to be a rework of the entire game as far as the counter system and units are. Its possible, the foundation is there, but the boldness and interest? I do not see it. There are like 3 animals, and 5 types of trees, it all looks the same even though there are some beautiful landscapes. The small details are missing and so much more.
long live AOE3
Its good for Devs to understand why fans are backing away, trying to sweep criticism under the rug does not accomplish anything either. Your free to avoid reading them.
I for one am happy to see the realization and vindication that AOE3 was way ahead of its time.
As posters have said I just wish they could put units on walls, and make walls less spammable
You are correct, but not in this case.
The thread “opener” ticket is just a completely useless cry.
still waiting on that rematch
If you actually read the entire thread you’d see a fairly detailed post of why I’m disgruntled with this release
I do actually still play(casually, as competitive play is a joke currently), I made this post in hopes of striking a nerve and spurring discussion, which I feel like I’ve done
Also you’re the one who clicked on the post to read it what’d u expect
