Can I just say thank you Devs, for giving Haiti black units! It’s slowly looking like a more sensible Haitian (post French) civ.
The only odd thing is Brit to Haiti Revolution - doesn’t really make sense.
If you’re going for the pirate route (or more accurately, Buccaneer route), call the Rev civ ‘Brethren of the Coast’ and make the HC Port Royal for the Brits and Petit Goave or Tortuga for the French. Or call it Republic of Pirates and make the HC Nassau, New Providence.
If it is purely Haiti (as in post 1600s Flibustiers, and post French-owned) then as a British revolution it’s something that never happened nor were they involved.
If you need something in lieu of Haiti for British, either the first suggestion or a Jamaican Maroons rev civ would probably make more sense.
Quick question: Can I play the pup without any risks loosing my HCs ? I just hit 131, and I don’t want to lose it.
I read some people lose their HCs in the past.
I’m saying this again: the amount of work and the quality of the work put into this patch, like many other earlier patches, deserves more advertising than a short announcement.
But you cannot even see the model changes in the patch notes. It’s such a large amount of work. Of course the existing players will notice, but what about returning and potential ones? Wouldn’t some of them feel like trying out the game again if they see the nice unique models?
Well no better utilize the precious social media resources for more profitable things like glowing deer or wild man randomly appearing on a map.
Well since the RGs look better than eye candy glowing deer dragons, do we really want to draw attention to how the latest entry in the franchise is graphically inferior?
Germans and Poles is definitely better than British for Haiti.
After the victory of the slaves and the declaration of Haiti’s independence, the constitution of 1805 prohibited whites from settling and owning any landed property in the country. However, this provision did not apply to Germans and Poles.
So Haiti could have references to German settlers and Polish Legions. The Haitian revolution could be available to civ Poles because Napoleon sent Poles to suppress the Haitian uprising, but they turned sides and started fighting with the Haitians against the French. German references could be economic (Settler Wagons, “Conestoga Wagons” HC card, “Palatine Settlements” HC card) and Polish military references (Polish Uhlans and accurate things for Haiti from potential Poles civ).
BTW. I hope for a lot new achievments e.g. Victory of X (for all civs) and for win in Historical Battle (for all HB). It would be nice to get an achievement for defeating USA civ playing as Brits who chose revolution USA.
It seems that Age of Empires III has never received any resource support from the publisher, and There is no publicity. I always felt as if the publisher was trying to hide the existence of Age of Empires III, because both the graphics and the idea of the game were much better than Age of Empires IV, which appeared more than a decade later.
Its a very insignificant buff. Just that the anti Otto cult only needs to see “ottoman” and “not nerfed to shit” to start the old creaky hinge routine.
What an incredible update! You can really feel the passion of the people working on the DE so thank you so much! It’s so wonderful to have our beloved game being taken care of by such a great team <3
I love the new skins so much, and the special church card unit skins are just amazing. At first I was a little sad like others that you can’t retrain the unique church units and you only get a few to mix in to your army but now I think maybe it’s right. It makes me think of how mercenaries used to be in the original game. It makes them feel really special.
A minor question: why is the red lancer a reskinned stradiot?
I know that church card was initially stradiot because there weren’t many mercenaries back then. But now it is not the best choice. First of all stradiot in the game is more of a hussar than a lancer, and there are proper lancer mercs (like bosniak). Also the original stradiot as a balkan unit is too different from the Napoleonic Dutch lancer appearance, so the switch looks odd.
I feel bosniak might be better for this role than stradiot.
Then it will turn all stradiots in the tavern into lancers as well. That’s more counterintuitive. There are two lancer mercs already and this tech will turn one more into a lancer.
I’m really curious why 1) they didn’t update the Brazil rev in any way despite updating multiple other revs (other than a small nerf) and 2) are giving the Portugal civ content that would realistically go to a Brazil civ. I believe cangaceiros (they misspelled it lol) are very exclusively Brazilian.
This shows that your guides are of great importance to the community, you should take advantage and comment on changes that you would make to the revolutions, surely the developers will take it into account.
