for better or worse, those of us that don’t want payed cosmetics are in minority, i’m expecting something similar to what starcraft II used (although its important to mention it only started selling cosmetics after going free to play)
Of course, this I consider very very important to give more life to the game…About the bandits the French and Rus campaigns showed a bit of that and it was fun and they gave you objetives to pay 1400 of gold to the bandits to stop their raids or raze the camps that had chests with resources in them…This can be traslated to mp too…
Of course, I think the same…
It will be because AoE 4 is a 2021 game and loses in almost everything against its 2005 prequel…luckily little by little AoE 4 is rebounding, I played the map of Sahara in AoE 4 and it was nice and finally they deigned to put herds more than just 3 measly deer here and there…
No, the fact that they’re spending working hours on skins while the game is still lacking content and features is disgusting.
?? What features is it missing ?
What content is it missing?
I’m sitting here scratching my head. Wouldn’t the original post answer this question, at least in the view of the original poster?
Spoilers, i’m in agreement here, i don’t like this anymore than you do, but there are too many braindead morons out there that just keep buying unfinished broken games and all their monetization for this crap to stop happening
What features from AOE3 s/b in AOE4?
All of them, starting with graphics.
dare i say #1 graphics and flora & fauna, the rest sort of depends of if a new approach would be better or not
The trees and plants in 4 look so fake.
These are compilation of feature requests from replies on that thread and from various threads on the forum. Not all of them might be “missing” features but decide for yourself.
- Mod support
Existing mods are too shallow and I suppose reason for that is technical unviability of modding the game aka. mod support.
- Single player content
We finally got 2 new art of war missions and I think expecting more to come isn’t an ungrateful thing. Same goes for campaigns…
I don’t think buying skins is a brainded move, nor the brainded customers of gaming industry is interested in AOE. I don’t think the target customers for skins are any spesific kind of players of the game like casual or competitive.
Personally as a competitive player myself I would like to see a landsknecht skin with the German noble dresses that they’re historically mostly depicted in, or Arabian man-at-arms skin(infantry and cavalry alike) with scale armor in which they’re mostly historically depicted… Anyway, you know where this is going…
What bugs me is them attemtping to this cash grab while there are tens if not hundreds of requests from both type of players.
Most requested features/fixes/whatever from casual players I’ve seen on forums;
- AI fix
- new missions and campaigns.
- new game modes
Skins aren’t requested, or at least prioritizingly requested by any type of player from the playerbase.
my point is, they’re trying to save costs on development with the cosmetics, as they’re cheaper to produce than civ dlc, or campaign, i agree with your on point list of things that they should be doing, but we both know its money first, it technically always was, but now they can get away with way more than back in the day
