I was about to post about this. Same problem. I can still play yesterday and it just happened today. Reinstalled twice, turned off av and firewall already.

I have had the same problem, I have updated my drivers and uninstalled/reinstalled AOE4 and the problem still persists.

This must be an overall problem, multiple people other than this thread are having the same issue, ive followed all advice and am now installing for the 3rd time today.
Just an update, Its been confirmed by the support team that this is now a known issue for users.

I have the same problem guys cannot play the game…
i have sent my dxdiag and log files to official team but they reply me with the exact same reply as this problem last occured when the former patch was published. sadly this time the same solution dont work at all. i suppose the everytime the patch itself has fatal technic bugs with mod system. or we just cant understand why the same problem happens twice.
If anyone gets any updates or fixes can they please post. Same issue. Reinstalled the game, ran all the basic fixes, nothing unfortunately.
same issue, xbox games pass user.
I tried loading it the game, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, does not allow me to play at all.

i cant find an update on the xbox app or microsoft store i just did one for the xbox gamebar thoough? and did you reset pc after or not?
what update i havent got one? i checked the microsoft store and all, even uninstalled the xbox app and re installed and restarted my pc. i dunno what todo untill the xbox app has an update for me. my xbox app installed version is 2207.1001.5.0 whats yours? @Kaellas77
same issue here, my other mates on game pass also have the issue, all my mates who got the game on steam have no problem though.
Same here, I bought the game from xbox and cannot play it now after the updates.
considerably high number of people playing aoe on gamepass.aoe is about to lose a lot of player if this issue carries on
Same problem on Steam, I match for a game then it crashes when it starts to launch the game. I checked the integrity of the files, 7 failed to validate and could not be reacquired so I uninstalled the game and tried a fresh install and also updated all the drivers and had the same problem. I played on 7/12 with no problem and on 7/13 this problem started.
This one is likely slightly different. Would you mind making a new thread/report and, more importantly, contacting support? If we see more reports on Steam it’ll be easier to track in their own thread. Thanks!!

We will be adding this problem to our Known Issues as we head into the weekend. If I hear anything regarding a fix, I will try to update here as soon as I can. Sorry to those of you who are experiencing this—know that we are definitely working on it.
Potential workaround - Downloaded a VPN, connected to US server and got past loading screen to main menu.
I’m having same issue as everyone above. Xbox Gamepass in Australia, stuck on loading screen. Only started occurring in the last day. Tried all other suggestions (deleing AOE4 from My Games folder, updating all Xbox apps, updating Geforce drivers etc etc) but nothing worked. The VPN seemed to work this morning.
2 other mates with Gamepass in Australia also experiencing same issue. No issue for a mate that has game on Steam (also in Australia).
