Updated the mod for the game version “101.102.18071.0 (#83607) 11179620” (Return of Rome DLC). Big thanks to Paradox Phantom for sending me the Return of Rome decay files!

Would it be a lot of work for the Devs? It doesn’t seem to me like it would be. I emailed about this and they told me to look at mods. I told them that’s not the same thing.

Battlefields being littered with corpses and skeletons was one of the things that made me love the original game. It was immersive and realistic and just looked cool.

I have created a special program for changing decay graphics files. I switched this program to SLD format based on this documentation - “https://github.com/SFTtech/openage/blob/master/doc/media/sld-files .md”. Remove space from that link. I had to add space because for some reason this forum obfuscates link otherwise.

Yorok0’s link has a click-counter in it in their original (non-quoted) post, which makes it a little confusing to know what the link should look like. (You now need to remove the space and the click-counter number.)

To help others who may come across this thread, here is the link again, where you need to remove the space. The difference here is that it shouldn’t get a link click-counter embedded into your copy/paste due to how I formatted it in the forum:

A tool to open .SLD files from the game’s devs would be great! There is another thread talking about SLD files here in case you didn’t see… but yeah, there’s no dev tool, it seems:

Hi Devs, is there a way to extract/opem/edit the new format .SLD files in AOE2DE? Also what are the measures to remedy the non-working of the colour mods? These are important matters which we would appreciate good quality tools for modding. Thanks!

AOE2 DE will always feel incomplete to me without the decaying corpses/skeletons of the original.

I think this mod is no longer updated. Is there any version of the mod that is updated?

I have been away from AOE 2 DE for a while. There have been new DLCs in the meantime and I do plan to update the mod but I need to buy the DLCs first in order to get access to all the decay files. I have been waiting for bigger discounts for DLCs. Last sale the discounts were at 50% for most unowned DLCs by me.

I guess I will buy the DLCs on the next sale and update the mod.

EDIT: I bought discounted Return of Rome and Chronicles: Battle for Greece from key sites, so I now have all decay files and will update the mod sometime soon, when I get free time.
