Native Americas Dlc + poll

A recent ( not mine) poll for the location of the next faction pack to main AOE 2 period omitted Native Americas. I would prefer this direction now because compared to other continents it has little content. I wish Mayan campaign and Zapotecs , Tarascans and Chimu as new civs with own campaigns. Maybe more players feel the same way. That’s why I’m posting this simple poll.

Next main period’s Dlc to game should be Americas Dlc?

Asd Muisca to that list and you have closed the connective interaction gap between Central amd South Americas

Could someone kindly educate me on what native american civs would be appropriate for that period? I honest don’t know much about native american history during the medieval times and i’m hoping to learn a bit about them.

More civs could be done in Mesoamerica and the Andes, but while some civs existed elsewhere such as the Mississippi valley, they lack historical records.

This is good option. I want to see someday Iroquis , Mississppians , Pueblo , Chanka or Tlaxcallans.

I would like a DLC like that but I don’t mind either way if it’s the immediate next one or not, maybe something like that could be an option in the poll?

My number now is America Dlc later Africa and someday as Flc - Slavs reworked to Kievan Rus.

Tbh for North America I think only Mississippians is viable. Iroquois is later period and Pueblo, while they did some quite impressive things, were still at their heart a tribal society moreso and so don’t really fit unfortunatly.

I do think Tlaxcala is a good shout as well, but I get the impression i’m in the minority on that one.

Agreed, this is my opinion as well

There were a couple of polls a while ago about this:

If you view the results, the ones with a lot of votes should give you an idea of the most plausible choices.

I couldn’t find a similar poll for North America, but I think Mississippians are the main one I’ve seen suggested.

North American civs will most likely revolve around heroes. They don’t have the technology to fight old world civs otherwise

Aztecs exist and their tech level was maybe comparable to the Bronze Age (they didn’t even have bronze but obsidian can be nasty, though it won’t do much vs metal armour).

Overall they’ll just ignore realistic balance.

Aztecs are already in game and they are in Central America.

I am focused on this topic. Adding civs from North America proper. North America DLC

I know, I meant the issue of Natives not matching the tech level of the rest of the world. The issue is already ignored for balance reason.

Otherwise on the other hand, European civs that were strong around 1500 (Franks Spanish…) and the Turks would be unstoppable.

What do you think they are going to balance with clubs and stone pelters seiging enemy towns of Imperial Age? What kind of technology do the North American tribes really have? Building mounds doesn’t win a war.

Just look at the Aztecs, all they had were cotton padded armour. Their infantry ingame is as protected as european civs that are supposed to be in full plate (IRL you were near unkillable in full plate, unless facing some very specialised weapons).

So if they are added the issue will be ignored. They’ll also get weapons they didn’t have like the treb.

Read my earlier massage. I am not talking about Central America/Aztecs. Focusing on topic only.

Nor am I. I say the precedent already exists so the issue is already solved : the real tech level will be ignored to keep civs balanced.

Can you please focus on topic?
