Or to Novgorodians. It’s about civilisations, not empires/kingdoms. The demonym to Kievan Rus is Rus or Russes.

Sounds like a made up name. It’s not even pronounciable

Is there any name that is not made up? All of them are. Novgorod Republic - Wikipedia

Next up make a civ called Holyromanemperian.

My issue with the Mississippians is there is so little known about them that you’d need making up a lot, as opposed to the Aztecs and Incas that are well documented so you could make campaigns about them. But their primitive tech level is not a problem.

There’s no demonym so far for HRE. The reason we have Teutons is exactly because of that - so that they could use Teutons to represent the entire HRE, instead of making a civ from HRE splinters - such as Bavarians or Bohemians. Check out that site i sent you, Novgorodian is a demonym.

Next up make a civ called Mstsislawian and Pereyaslavlian and Polotskian.

If they were as relevant as Kievan Rus or Novgorod or Muscowy, then why not? Achaemenids is worse to pronounce anyway.

At least i’m consistent and I’m not making up exaggerated examples in order to “gotcha” someone.

“Expose” ? Are you LARPing as the Spanish Inquisition ?

Well, anyway, Chronicles will probably be released in the autumn. And the standard DLC for AOE 2 will probably be released in about a year. I hope it’s about native America. And somewhere along the way rework -Slavs to Rus.

I hope the renaming comes eventually, but I think it would be more appropriate if it came along with Wends/Wlachs (who would replace Dracula campaign) with Magyar and Rus campaigns, and preferably with Novgorodians and their own campaign, too (Alexander Levski let’s go).

I personally hope they can properly resolve the issues and controversy surrounding the East Asia DLC before moving on to other places. But in any case, I think Africa and Americas would be welcome, as long as the civs won’t be some warlords.

I think the best Native American candidates are Chimu, Muisca and Purepecha, leaving Mesoamerica and Andean with 3 civs each. Others often mentioned and discussed include the Mapuche, Mississippians, and the Zapotecs.

Yeah this are good ideas . I hope also finally for Mayan Campaign.

Im working ona civ pack for meso civs. Much like mods such as mandate of heaven Im willing to collaborate to bring this magic to life.

Chimu - An infantry civ whose defensive nature lets them boom up but the lack of Arbalest means you must be sure you dont fear enemy infantry. Command mighty Camaquen Mace infantry with high armor who are so filled with faith they dont take bonus from anti infantry and are good vs buildings but are a little slow.

Toltec - Enjoy the near fullest American tech tree with late game buffs and crazy defenses if you dont mind lacking Elite Eagles. Work with Queen Xochitl and her Xochitlite, 1/2 pop short ranged archers who do bonus damage vs siege.

Muisca - Train the super villager UU: the Gueche and use a powerful archery tech tree. Train the Taironan a Tejo player whose ranged discs CANNOT miss and will bounce to a second target if one is close enough.

Mapuche: Employ cavalry alongside eagles. Use Cav Archers, Xolotl (with feudal variant and Imp upgrades) and Malon Raiders (reskinned Steppe Lancers) with lots of upgrades except for say Husbandry. Train the Welchafe a mounted unit with bonus damage vs Unique Units meant to symbolize pushing out invaders.

Tarascan/Purepecha: Employ your access to food generation while chopping wood. Be aware you might be low on farm and woodcutter tech. A focus on archers and Eagles but be aware they lack both halb and champ. Use the Quangariecha, whose anti cavalry anti shock and anti building axe can be thrown for low damage but will swap to a stronger melee hit if confronted in melee

Join the Zapotec in their economic plight to endure berries and lob powerful siege AtlAtls. Recruit the fast Lightning Warrior who for 5 seconds drains the base armor both melee and pierce setting them to 0 of whatever is the most recent target he hits (ignores all + bonuses) and takes reduced damage from all units in that unit line while effected by them. Hitting a different unit returns the armor to the other target and all armor resets after 5 seconds if nothing else is hit

Civ bonuses
Toltec

  • Skirmishers +1 damage vs archers per age (+ 3total)
  • Start +75w, 75s
  • Town Center Techs have 60% less cost and research time (excludes Age up)
Team Bonus: Dropsite buildings build speed 3x

Chimu

  • Dropsites and Houses 2x HP
  • Villagers +20% carry and 3% movespeed per age (No wheelbarrow)
  • Barracks Techs cost no gold
Team Bonus: Repairs work 33% faster

Rest WiP

I want first an migration period DLC in Europe but second I want an andean DLC. For any new central or north america civilization I prefer to have a dedicated DLC or two (central american DLc and north american DLC)

Andean DLC

I think we must have an Andean DLC because it’s actually the worst region at all. They have only one civilization the Incas. For the assets it’s the poorest, we have quasi nothing from the andean region just : inca castle, inca wonder, slinger, kamayuk and llama.

Incas having a mayan architectural set is horrible, worst than middle eastern architectural set for the Persians. For this and for the lack of asset the Pachacuti campaign is visually the ugliest of all : inca vs inca. Inaccurate architectural set. Inaccurate units : plumed archer and worst : jaguar warrior and eagle warrior. Aztec wonder, Maya wonder. Inaccurate tree.

This break the immersion because since the start of the game the environment was very immersive : architectural set, accurate tree, accurate animal, asset from western Europe, mongol, and middle east. The only bad thing was the middle eastern architectural set for the byzantine. Then in The Conquerors put assets from central America. The forgotten added two architectural set. TAK added asset from Africa : wilds beast, tree, architectural set. RotR added thing from SW asia : mangrove tree, animal. The last khans added a graphical upgrade at all the game : new assets (architectural set). Lotw added little but I don’t care because he takes place in western Europe and there is ton of assets in this region since the start of the game. Dotd added asset from eastern Europe: birch tree notably. DoI add much stuff. Before DoI when I played Prithviraj campaign this was OK, but after the release of Doi I say : now I play in India ? RoR added gazelle, yes I was waited them since TAK. Tmr added stuff from the Caucasus. V&V added nothing in term of new asset, very bad. Chronicles added assets like the vineyard and antiquity objects. But the best is the Three kingdoms who add many new assets : regional units, model for each castle, regional skins for the monk, ton of new decorations (building, rock, three, etc) It’s a controversial DLC but not for the assets and he have the best asset of the game : the panda rock.

Inca must have an andean architectural set.

I made a suggestion for an Andean DLC here :

Mapuches

I think we must have a Mapuche civilization but I disagree with you in some points. First I want to remove the eagle warrior for the andean civilizations and add a regional unit called the chasqui. Also the Xolotl warior don’t look any like in the Andean region. Second for the UU I think the mapuche must have three unique units , the same than AoE 3

Ironwood Clubman : a footed infantry available at the castle. Maybe a bonus against cavalry and gunpowder unit with an area of effect ? Low armor.

Bolas Rider : mounted ranged unit who slow down is opponent. Low armor. trained at the stable.

Third you convinced me to add a third UU the Malon Raiders but not as a reskinned steppe lancer but as a reskined scout line but with +1 range like the steppe lancer. Just a scout line with +1 range.

Malon Raiders. mounted melee unit with stat like the scout line +1 range. Have the same bonus against the monk than the scout. trained at the stable. replace the scout line.

I think it’s not a good idea to add cavalry archer as ranged cavalry to the mapuche because they never use them but use bolas rider and this is the only option to add this unit in AoE2.

Chimus

You’re right the andean used many mace as weapon, Mace infantry can be a good UU and it’s visually appealing.

Paladins dont look very Cumanian and Arbalests dont really look like they have the right armor and helmet come from most of the civs that use them

Why create a new scout when a current unit fills so many niches seamlessly without being a gimmick

Keep in mind I need a balance, playtest and art team as is, needing 3 lines of art design eagle replacement feels like free labor for my Mandate of Heaven of the Americas to feel unkind

So I guess the question remains: who wants to join this project to earn shared glory and credit

Did you literally just grab the units from Age of Empires 3 and Civilization 6 without context and just assumed they’d fit here flawlessly?

Despite my passion for new civs and a bit of a coding background, I had no experience developing mods so had no idea where to start. Besides, my thoughts on the new American civs (like this thread of mine) may have some difference from yours. I’m not sure I can really help you achieve the outcome you want.

Agreed, sorry @CouguarLoup7693 but you’re in the wrong here. You tried and failed so no redos!!! so lets stick with the more formulated idea for now, everyone. Shall we remain on this path?

If Mandate of Heaven is allowed to succeed then so can this
