One thing I wonder if the devs will try to update is changing the civ of the Cappadocia Theme in Manzikert from Byzantines to Armenians? The latter populated that area around the time of the Historical Battle. Cappadocia was “terra Hermeniorum,” the land of the Armenians, by European Crusaders due to the large numbers of Armenians living there.
Another thing I noticed is that in Tamerlane 5, the Scouts report still has Cataphracts as the UU of Cilician Armenia, despite the civ change.

Not for me. I can use them as environment objects for an RPG scenario set in different parts of Georgia.
And also it lacks destruction animations I believe
The unique towers will be hard to balance I believe. see the Donjons.
I wonder if they planned to give them a combined tower + house building.
Considering the overlap with the Fortified Church I assume they changed the idea because of balance reasons.
The civ would probably impossible to raid if it had houses that can shoot arrows when you garrison villagers inside.
The Fortified Church only becomes available in the Castle Age and then costs 200 Wood.

Something bothered me: there is no trailer for this DLC
I can imagine the devs being like “I don’t have time for this, I have better things to do” and just scrapping the whole idea.
Unique units is one thing, but unique buildings can have unsurprising result so they need a lot of testing.
I would have liked to see them, but the reason they didn’t do it is probably a lot of balance needed. The devs must have been like “I don’t have time for this, I have better things to do, my time is better invested into something else” and just kept it for the scenario. Beside, we already have the Koreans as the tower guys.
The solution to lumber camp inefficiency.
The civs should have (had) unique architecture but from a design perspective they’d be overloaded if they had another unique building. Maybe at some point they can make this a unique skin when you research Svan towers, but they’d first have to make a destruction animation.
That’s what I imagined too.
No they would still have regular houses. Just their towers provide +5 pop like Slavs military buildings. You won’t afford using towers alone as houses.

Towers provide +5 pop space is one of my most proposed TB in different threads. I don’t think it will be too strong unless you’re Koreans or Poles or Incas.
Mine too, specifically for the Georgians. It’s such an obvious idea that it’s strange the devs didn’t go for it.
