New Expansion DLC: Dawn of the Dukes

Devs said at some time they don’t want to add completely new civs, don’t remember exactly where.

There are other cultures in the Baltics

Not cultures with any important kingdoms or interesting wars I think. I have read quite a bit about European warfare and the other Baltic cultures basically are irrelevant

What historically important dukes were present at the time in Europe? So to start guessing what civs may be added (if they’ll be added…)

Burgundians are the most important in the west with maybe some Dutch duchies at the second place. In east we have the russian duchies and the grand duchy of Lithuania

I know. A nice civ would be Prūsai (Old Prussians). Unfortunately, the Teutonic Order committed genocide against this nation. Another Baltic nation are Latvians.

It seems to me that the Lithuanian campaign could concern the Second Prussian Uprising 1260-1274. In this campaign, the Lithuanian civ would be Prussia.

douchy of toulouse, saxony (+bavaria), habsburg, milan…
Also possible.

No. These are examples from Central Europe.

ah right, I just misread the description

Totally not hyped. These DLCs mainly focus on single play. I would love to see some love for mulitplayer in the near feature. There are still some complaints about ranked. My own complaint is the team game ratings, which are still bugged since the release of DE. The devs seems to not care at all about that issue. There are also some other complaints about ranked from other players. I would love to see the devs to focus on these issues and improve that experience. Their are also other things to improve (for SP and MP). The current UI is a terrible design. There are still players who just arent able to play the game because of frequently crashes. Things like that. New civs are the last thing we do need.

I am more hyped about the coop mode for campaigns, even while i wont play the campaigns at all. A coop mode sounds fun to me. But from what i have heard this isnt part of the DLC. I see this as a missed opportunity from the devs as well.

So there will probably be a campaign about lithuanians, since they are the only ones without even an historical battle.

But as civ? We got burgundians, lithuanians, rus and duch, 2 of them are already in the game… any more important duchies?

Bohemia and Poland which are highly requested and could provide a setting for a good campaign.

My guess is that Bohemia will have its own campaign and then Lithuanians and Poles will have a shared coop campaign.

There is no world in which Serbia is in the Eastern Europe. Same applies for Croatia, which was mentioned by some. The region is called the Balkans.

Ok but since I’m not an expert of that area of Europe at that time, are those technically duchies? Or people suppose that they may be added just because are heavily requested civs from the fanbase?

Because if they aren’t it’s a bit of a stretch to consider that there may be more civs.

Solo rating is fine and TG rating has no priority. It’s just teamgames, they are less competitive and the rating would be easily manipulated one way or another.

I can see them adding a Slav and Lithuanian campaign and then add two more random eastern european civs

Both started as Duchies but later became kingdoms.

What’s up with them releasing DLCs at short notice? They announced LotW on 18 November something.

Poland being a duchy for 60 years isnt enough. Bohemia is fine

Mmm ok, so it is a bit of a stretch…
