New Expansion DLC: Dawn of the Dukes

I just want extra siege units, and that is the most likely, i think

Well, if we going to get expansion smilliar to LOTW with 2 new civs and 3 new campaigns set in eastern Europe for sure Lithuanians will get campaign, probably Vytautas the Great - he was duke afterall.

And if 2 new civs are Poles and Bohemians: While I have no idea about Bohemians, Poles could have Mieszko I and Bolesław The Brave campaign smilliar to Grand Dukes in Burgunian campaign with 2 main character. Campaign with 5 or 6 scenarios could look something like this:

  1. In first mission You unite various slavic tribes under Mieszko I banner by sword or diplomacy. In cutscene player learn about baptism of Poland in 966.
  2. Campaign against Veleti.
  3. Battle of Cedynia 972, where player must defence his lands against Hodon’s German army.
  4. Now You play as prince Bolesław Chrobry. Defense of Budziszyn, player must defend his stronghold against Germans.
  5. Campaign in Kievan Rus. Fighting with Ruthenians and Vikings. End with cutscene where in 1025 Bolesław gets the crown.

Just my idea

It’s just a name;)

After the name “Lords of the West” I expected civs from the British Isles. Fortunately, we got two completely different civs.

Civilizations will be the largest peoples of Eastern Europe, and at most campaigns may involve princes, e.g. Bolesław I the Brave, Ottokar I of Bohemia and Tomislav of Croatia. Each of them started out as a prince to become king. That would fit the name Dawn of the Dukes.

I am expecting 4 civs (Poles, Czechs, Serbo-Croatians and Romanians) and 5 campaigns (for civs from DLC + Lithuanian). These DLCs would be more expensive than the Lords of the West.

Dont think we will ever see DLCs with 4 or 5 new civs as expansions used to be. Two civs is a much more viable option esp if they want to keep introducing civs every 6 months. Romanians are hardly an option serbo-croats doesnt sound right could have either or both separatelly.

I believe they are splitting it like this

August might be too close to AoE 4, which is supposed to release in “Fall 2021”

I’m hoping an E3 shadowdrop,

To be honest, I do not think the AoE2 playerbase has much interest in AoE4.

Yeah, because it won’t be something they are good at for years and that’s a lot of :moneybag::moneybag: they won’t be making in the meantime

Yeah, people are going way to literal with their guessings. They need a cool name to sell the dlc, that’s it.

I do not make any money with AoE2, and still am not interested in AoE4.

There were cooler options available…

What would have made you interested?

I really liked Dawn of War (1), so I’m open-minded about AoE4.

At this point, Relic just needs to show me a scenario editor that’s as good/better than the one in AoK.

Having all the cisv that AoE2 has right now, and avfew more, and having more campaigns.

In essence, for AoE4 to interest me, it would have to be AoE2 + or AoE1 +.

More civs will be added in DLC most likely, or less likely in updates (but it will take longer for unique architecture and playstyle for every civilization. I prefer the uniqueness of AoE3/4 over 1 or 2 closed trees).

So you just love AoE2 and don’t care about anything else unless it is basically AoE2?

I also like AoE1, AoM, and AoE3 (even though the USA civ is the biggest disappointment of the decade).

I will be waiting to see if you add AoE4 to that list after you play some this year

AoM and 2 are my favs.

AoE1 would be good if the stupid optimization wasn’t messed up and stopped with the frequent 40FPS drops

I likely will not be playing it, actually.
Between the new DLCs for AoE2 and 3, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous; I will likely wait for a sale to get AoE4, if I even ever get it.

I also think there will be Polish & Bohemian Civs. I wonder if a third one could be Duchy of Muscovy? They would rename Slavs Rus’ for Kievan Rus.

I think if there will be Bohemian Civ, campaign must be Hussite Wars.

Polish new Civ might have combined campaign with Lithuanians?
