That’s super fine, and I hope you have found a game that brings you close to the joy AoEO brings me!
They removed a lot of features from dow2… So game was less graphic intensive… things like explosions, texture details, animations ( a lot of them included the famous synckills), covers, physics etc.
for me dow 2 looks 100 times better.
its funny how you think my voice has any influence
if they would listen to their fans, the game would be completely different
Yeah, it’s called AoE 3 de😁
Actually, I don’t think it does
On the contrary, they have listened to their fans and we have the game in front of us
where did u find this info out?
They listen. They’ve listened to me. They’ve listened to people I know. Keep articulately, politely, and firmly stating your objections. I don’t always live up to that myself, frankly.
now we know why they chose the cartoonish artstyle
Maybe they just did it to annoy you
i know you are trying to tease people on these forums and i just took the bait
but yet again, its cute how you think my voice has any influence
yes, they make a terrible job on the graphics, just for me
Hey, if @CelticKeeper can do it, so can I
All our voices have influence if they are in a majority
I would like some day to understand why relic/microsoft choo
from coh1, coh2 and dow2 forums… mostly in coh2.org
Where does it say they use the essence engine for aoe4?
I remember a video, someone from Microsoft talking about relic proprietary engine but I don’t remember.
In think in this post is confirmed: AOE IV uses Essence Engine 5
this says they are upgrading it for AoE4, not exactly the 2006 engine lol…
Well it hasnt been the 2006 engine for a long time. It’s now Essence 5, so we could say the 2021 engine.
As to where is says, it was on many interviews. Check wikipedia too.
Is Manor Lords made by just one person? It’s hard to know after it being said about 10 times in 6 minutes in the OP video
I’ll take good gameplay over good graphics any day, but the guy in video seems like he’s basing his opinion solely on graphics and formation stuff. I bet if AoE4 devs spent 3 years just worrying about cool graphics and animations, they’d have created a stunning feature length and feature quality movie by now that would run circles around Manor Lords’ graphics. AoE is a bit more than eye candy, though.
I bet graphical polish and fidelity is one of the last things to worry about when making an AoE title, since there’s so much that goes into the game; so we’ll see how the final months go for AoE4.
Let’s also see how many civs Manor Lords has, and how much each civ varies from the other. How deep and, more importantly, fun will its econ mechanics be… its tech trees, balance, map variety and size, units, audio, campaigns, multiplayer build-out, etc.
I’m sure a game made by just one person for three years can ‘look’ good, however it does take human hours to build stuff out. Making good animations and models is just one small piece of the ‘how to make a fun AoE-like game’ puzzle. (I didn’t read the website about Manor Lords, so really don’t know what all is coming. However, it’s just a sad reality that one person can only do so much in a day. So, I highly doubt it will have the breadth/scope of AoE4 in many areas. And basing your excitement to buy based solely on graphics seen so far, especially after playing since AoE1 as he said, seems a little disingenuous, imo.)
I’m not offended. It is what it is But I just wanted to share a perspective
First of all developers should Say : we are thinking to a separate Graphic DLC. In this way they’ll probably calm many people.
AOEO? project celeste Is a fan Project: teams done a good work realising the Roman factions but i wouldn’t Say this game is good.
I, like any other person, do not need arguments to say that I do not like or dislike someone. Yes, not all people are equally pleasant.
