Basing on 1v1 does not means we need those FL or bombard come back, Chinese perform just OK on closed map. What we need to buff on Chinese is to enhance its survival ability on opened map which has became poor gradually after several nerf.

I believe this kid misunderstand on your meaning which advocate to buff the survival ability in early ages of Chinese but not buff clocktower or bombard back.

Shame about your remarks. If the official listens to a player like you, it will not benefit the future of the game.
This is the 44 data you claim. 1200 elo is a lower threshold for experienced players. By the way, in the 3v3 competition held by Microsoft, the performance of HRE in the closed map is much better than that of Chinese. This is an unnerfed version of FL.

Lool this thread is op. I need to learn China so I can formulate an informed opinion.

But on the topic of water do not nerf the fishing rates any further please. Rather increase the cost of the docks by 50 wood and the cost of fishing ships by 5 wood. This would slow down the ramping effect while persevering that it still ramps if left unchecked. The whole point of water on a hybrid map is such it is not completely ignored unless you can take an advantage much earlier than when the water eco would kick in. The idea that staying completely land on a hybrid map SHOULD thru out the whole game be able to contend with the other player going water simply means the othercplayer is stupid AND wasted his time and put himself at risk since there is no advantage going water over just staying on land.

LAST POINT
I think a fair medium for hybrid water play is that going water should pay off at the rate going 1.5 TC but obviously at a cheaper setup and sooner than feudal. So a person not challenging water would have to play aggressively OR go 3 TCs to eventually catch up.

The only toxic thing here is your incompetence, what are your facts? You have none, zero,nada. Your statistics are laughable 4v4 don’t matter at all, game is balanced toward being competitive in 1v1, so all civ have similar chances with each other. If you don’t understand that stop making an embarrassment of yourself.

Do you realize that Chinese player’s elo is 2054 while Mongol’s 1434 (at the time the game was played), that’s why Beasty changed to Chinese as soon as he realize the big 600 elo gap (you can check on his twitch, he changed civ right after knowing his opponent’s elo), kind of handicapping and wanting to try new Chinese against low elo opponent.

I am sorry that you guys have to face mass bombards and FL, but for me, I’ve never seen it, so I guess it must be in pretty low-level gameplay, Afterall 30 bombards cost 30,000 resources, with the upgrades’ cost and stuff, it means you can almost build 3 wonders, so it really on you to let that happen.

Try pushing into 4 player. not going to happen. Hurrassing sometimes works if team help. Most team game 1 guy dont make units and just tec to wonder. Your left turtling and protecting or lose.

So yes… getting up to 20 bombards is posable. I’ve done it myself but we won with wonder anyways
no way in hell other team can pass mass walls and castle and my 20 bombards. no way in hell.

Team games are like night and day ver 1v1. China pretty strong in team games if the other team dont all rush you. Most game mabe 1 or 2 player rush but are fought back easy resulting in a longer game with mass siege and Wonder win

BTW this is why I always said Wonder wins dont belong in team games. its to toxic and boring. But every game someone dose it.
Most lower elo players dont know how to do anything but turtle and mass siege or Wonder. This is what you get.

Even mid range elo team game are over in 10 min if someone attacks and player quits. Or super long with Wonder win and siege that never reach the target

If you look at last patch statistics you can clearly see that china was overall one of the worst civs for team games. Only 3v3 they were top 3. In other they were always bottom feeder.

OK I am a novice and I’m fascinated by some of these comments - all the stuff you guys are talking about has gone right over my head, the only thing I really noticed is that the Chinese super bombard doesn’t seem to be there anymore, but I figured it was my bad for not playing correctly. I didn’t notice anything at all with relics, what happened??

I’m a bit confused by the fishing issue but I do recall that AoE II had very intricate naval battles so hopefully that is to come with IV

Which civilisation do you think has strongest navy? I am thinking Holy Roman Empire but not sure…main thing I found is you need a large navy to win with ships but once you’ve got that you can really smash it

What’re these data that you are showing? You cropped out the elo range and the version, and when did you take the screenshot? It seems that you are talking about the Chinese winrate for patch 10257, and the data look completely different from what you have shown.
The only one that I found that resembles your data is this:

which is for <899 elo, patch 10257, 4v4.
So, is this the data set that you provided? If not, which data set did you provide?

This is no surprise. Anytime someone posts screenshot of data and its without elo range or patch its worthless.

Ppl on these forums lie, fake and exaggerate things to suit their own argument.
