I wrote about this topic once. I think that Poles and Russians civs should have shared units that would replace some of the standard European units.
I would also like to point out that the Kosynier (Scytheman) should still be able to build buildings and collect resources. They should not have been trained in military buildings because they were not soldiers.
Additionally, a second Settlement unit (hunter lumberjack? putting up Beehives) would be a nice addition - Kurp - I mentioned it in the linked topic.
Are you sure the DLC failed? It has mixed reviews, and not exactly because of what you mention (at least in the cases that I have read). The criticism is due to other factors such as the absence of campaigns and the technical and balance problems that it brought.
Furthermore, the African continent was quite requested before the definitive edition, and that is why the Napoleonic era and the wars of freedom were widely played, because they were trying to expand the game with an African theme.
I hope not. I would like them more as playable factions. Furthermore, I think they would make more sense this way, rather than as revolutions.
I wouldn’t personally want another EU civ.
I would like more European civilizations, but I agree that we should explore other continents.
Agreed, it would be weird to have USA and Mexico as full civs while having Denmark and Poland only as revolutions…
Let’s not forget about Malta.
Of course, remember that the Songhai lasted 100 years and that they were conquered by the Moroccans in 1591…that’s why I think they were not included (even with the Moroccans, you could later add Songhai allies)…the Hausa, although they were conquered by the Sokoto Caliphate, it was only at the beginning of the 19th century, that’s why they fit well in AoE 3…
Yes, it was probably a nod to Nigeria, but yes, it was a surprise that they were chosen instead of the Oyo Empire in Benin…
That’s true, the same thing, Europe is already running out of new places, to put dlcs (Baltic-Eastern Europe is coming now)… I don’t see the Alps as dlc, they are not going to divide Germany; so I just tell you remains the Balkans (Greece and Wallachia)…
Whatever topic it is (South America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, SEA), it will surely surprise us…
Maybe like in Napoleonic Era…
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth
[![75px-Herb ##############################################################################################################################################################################################
- Civilization bonus: The Commonwealth starts with an outpost wagon, allowing them to establish early map control. All Polish units and buildings have extra Line of Sight. Buildings are cheaper, but weaker than those of other civilizations. Their Mill and Plantations are especially cheap, though they have a lower gatherer limit than typical. The Polish use Farms rather than Mills and Livestock Pens, and they gather faster from their Farms early on. Their Farms and Plantations also provide housing space. The Polish cannot hunt without using a card to enable Settlers to do so. They can construct Stables in the Exploration Age, allowing them to muster Cavalry earlier in Commerce Age than most civilizations. Can send Kozaks, including Kozak Cavalry Archers and Kozak Lancers.
- Unique units: Szlachcic, Lisowczyk, Tabor, Pancerni, Partyzant
- Royal Guard units: Hussar, Pancerni
- Unique Buildings: Farm (Folwark)
- Personality: Jan Sobieski
The Brazilians are similar to the Portuguese, but more influenced by the bandeirantes and the African 2l4ves and a little Holland and Tupi to the north… they would be jungle Afro-Portuguese xd…
Koreans would be fine, it’s a classic civ from the saga…
Both civs can be included if you base on the WoL versions…
Yes, it is assumed that if they include the Poles it would be the post-Grunwald Poles (1410) (Exploration Age), having their prime in 1569 with the Union of Lublin or 1610 with the conquest of Moscow (Commerce Age) and with the Deluge onwards (1660) would begin to decline until the partitions of 1795 (Fortresses Age)…then in the Industrial Age they would be the Duchy of Warsaw (1807) with their revolutions in 1831 and 1863 and in the Imperial Age they would be the Poland of the Congress (1815 -1918)…
That’s true, many wanted new campaigns outside of America, then with KotM expectations dropped a bit, but since it was Europe, no one complained…

The two what the hell xd…
That’s true… super strange xd…
Okay. How I envision Persia (Mechanically)
Diverse infantry(However less cards that buff them)
1 Heavy infantry musk
1 Azap like unit
1 Skirmisher unit
Strong Cavalry
1 Rifle Rider like unit (anti heavy)
1 Nomadic horse archer
1 Gendarm like cavalry with AOE attack
1 specialized Hussar
Elephants can be accesed via consulate or Homecity only
at least 1 camel unit like the Berber camel raider
Artillery
1 mortar
1 heavy canon
1 culverin like unit
1 Shitty artillery unit
3 Consulate allies
At least one of them allows you a factory
Yes, I agree…they can be based on the Persians from Kings Return…
Civ Bonus (Pros & Cons)
• Khums (Fifth) - Gold Collecting: Khums is a 20% religious obligation tax that must be paid on all people’s income. It is a unique ability to collect gold from villagers by Allamah : Every villager will increase Allamah’s gold trickle by a small percentage. On the other hand the villager gather rate will also be decreased by 20%.
• Persian Mill : a unique building for Persian that will act as a livestock-pen. This building can be configured either to 1) spawn free 300 food crates every 2.5 or 2) auto-gather food at 1.5/second. Additionally, farms built near the Persian Mill with produce small amount of food.
• Rug Workshop & Rug Market : a rug workshop will replace the European plantation. A rug market will is a unique building that can be configured to produce extra gold through either wholesale (auto-gather gold) or retail (spawn gold crates).
• Khan (or Caravensari): Persians can build a “Caravensari” instead of saloon which train mercenaries but with a little twist: if you build it near a trade route it will act as a regular TP as it can receive resources.
• Shrines : villagers & mullahs can pray in the shrines to collect faith.
• Unique Resources : Faith.
Now the question:
Could the Persians civ have at least one shared unit with the Ottomans civ???
None of the current units would really work. But if Ottomans got a unique artillery piece they could share it with Persians.
Persian Safavid, had access to a solid gunpowder unit (Tofangchi), Gholam (various units could be cavalry), Mortar/artillery combination something like Ethiopian ones. Super strong cavalry potentially can see Sipahi (spahi) as their age 3 cavalry.
By the way, the majority does not change their opinion or their version, even though most of the problems they complained about now largely no longer exist. Furthermore, in many cases reviews are only given by those who have complaints, while those who are satisfied do not bother to comment.
The Persians would need at least 15 UU as the other Asian civs…
This is a big DLC anyways so we expect maps, new nats and at least 2 civs so I don’t think that would be an issue.
there are no one at FE anymore making maps since vividly left.
Are we sure than someone of the experienced devs, coming from modding scene, can’t at least 3-5 maps?
