Poll: The Future of DLCs and what would you like them to see on them

TBH Tibetans are very unlikely to be added into the game for obvious reasons. Instead we can add the Tanguts to partially represent the Tibetans.

I don’t think Gokturks and Khitans need to be added because they are too similar to the current steppe civs that we have and it would be hard to find them a suitable unique unit or bonus. The only Northern Asian civ that I feel cannot really be covered by existing civs is the Jurchens, and I wanna see them in the game.

Despite Siamese had been heavily influenced by the South Asian Hindu civilization, it’s still more suitable to group them with Southeast Asians instead of South Asians due to history, culture, language, and race. I would like to see a new DLC that focuses on Southern China and Southeast Asia, with three new civs the Siamese, the Chams, and the Nanzhao.

Tibetans is more popular than Tanguts in AoE community.
In the other hand, no one can sure that CCP will ban AoE games for “mediaeval” Tibetans introduced.
If so, Jurchens, Khitans and Tanguts will also be limited for same reason that they all should be covered by Chinese too.

Well, I don’t think that Gokturks and Khitans can be perfectly coverd or represented by current civs, no matter the UU, UT or the architecture set.
Actually, they may be far from the current civ.
According Chinese records, both of them were good at scouting and intelligence works.
Gokturks was also famous for the imperial bodyguard/retinue cavalry called “Bori” (means “wolves”).
Khitans had so many steppe bow riders that were very light-armed, weaker but cheaper.
Meanwhile, Khitans also had the elite cavalry troop using the crossbow and heavy armor.

Especially if we want a Chinese campaign, both of them play such an important role in Chinese and east Asian medieval history. You would not be happy while the campaign of Joan of Arc has Franks but no Britons, right? Teutons cannot represent Franks by the reason that they are similar Knights and Crusaders civs.

Of course I agree that if there is only one new Asian civ can be added, Jurchens definitely has the priority. But for the many players who had learned Chinese history, it is such a shame that no them there.

Manchu arent trying to become independent as far as I know and the other two are extinct. Tbh not sure if Tibet would be allowed.

Either way, representing them as Tufans/Tanguts its a safer choice but maybe Tibetans is fine too.

There is a funny fact that so many years ago, I had noticed a mod made by Chinese AoE community, which introduced all 56 ethnic groups in China officially claimed by China gov.

Nothing happened. The author is safe. 11

Its a mod right not something sold.

Yeah, I knew.
If CCP wanna ban your works, they don’t care that it is for sale or just a fan-made.

Well, It is just a name, I can accept the Tibet civ is named Qiang in the game.

As someone else has stated earlier, this is a decision for the developers to make. If you’re trying to discourage people from pushing for Tibetans just because of hypothetical censorship from China, you’re actually contributing to the censorship yourself.

The threat is very real if not they would have done this years ago.

No, CCP will stop AoE 2 completely in China if Tibet, Uighur, Hmong cultures are reprsented.would Love to see then in game, but not gonna happen

You have no evidence of this.

Tbh I would be surprised if Uighurs could be added without any problem.

They are already in the first mongol scenario as tatars.

Not really the same I would say.

Having your own civ is a whole other deal (and may raise people awareness which Im not sure China would be fine with)

The best thing would have been that they would have added Tibet with the Conquerors but right now I don’t think FE as well as MS is willing to introduce a Tibetan civ, no matter how historical important it was IRL.

Tbh if we have had Tibetans since The Conquerors we would have probably had Koreans introduced somewhere

Kinda surprised at how little interest theres in central Asia but I guess it makes sense that people would be burn out of horde civs

Added a new question asking how do you feel about the new DLC. Seems like the reception is overall positive but Im interested on seeing some results

Okay but can you quit spamming on this dead thread? If you are talking to yourself maybe that’s a sign that people stopped caring.

I want to see the reception of the new DLC.

Thats it

It’s self-explanatory that the DLC was an huge success, alone due to the choice of civs.
