Its easy. If we use category of west central and eastern Europe than Poland and Hungary are central. If we use just eastern and western than they are eastern Europe.
Thatās debatable. Most of Anatolia was/is sparsely settled wasteland. Referring to the Ottomans as Asian because of Anatolia is like referring to Russians as Asian because of Siberia.
Culture, language, ethnic group and religion, are all Asian, so Ottomans are Asian.
There is literally nothing European about them.
Russia is in Asia and Europe, Kievan Rus was in Europe
Russia still counts as an European, not Asian, country.
It is both
But do you use same metric for all imperial countries? Was English, Spanish empire European?
Yes. The founding people were Europeans, the language, culture and religion were also European, so they were European.
It would be easier to rename it to Mediterranean but itās far too late unless @DodoNotDoDo can implement a new feature that lets us as change poll options during the poll.
Allowing an edit like that would be problematic. It would allow someone to change the most popular voted item to whatever they want it to be.
I know that but maybe we could moderate stuff like that, @DodoNotDoDo.
Iād love to see Norse make a come back. Canāt wait to see their aesthetics ingame and their architectures. Iād also love to play with native americans (north america) like the ones we could play with in AoE 3.
Mediterranean is a wider area, and implies Berbers, Egyptians, Algeriansā¦ along with the Southern Europe peoples.
I was misled. South Europe Portugal is my vote.
Guys please stop arguing
Personally i would like to see central asian civs, but knowing where the series is heading it will probably be something more mainstream in pop culture, like the vikings, japanese, or byzantines.
No one knows which civs weāll get in 1st dlc but lot of people(me too) having concern over choosing Delhi Sultanate (Foreign invading force) over native Civs and the developers said that we did this itās Historically accurate( I admit itās accurate but I still hate it) with game era and campaign but we will promise to revisit Subcontinent with native civ. So Iāll hope they add at least one authentic, ethnic Indian civ
Indian civs in Age2 and Age 3 are more of Mughal than Indian. Indian subcontinent is way to big and Diverse to be called one civ but the problem is Developer donāt treat Indian Factions like European Factions.
And itās just game so it matters that much but sometimes it feels like replacing one native culture & identity with other in such a good platform.
Serbian have a short-living kingdom in middle age and most of the time was a vassal entity.
Ottomans is definitely European, all his politics and wars were in central and east Europe. Moreover, the Ottomansā political, cultural, and territorial descendants of Byzantine than Turkic tribe federation.
All her politics, religions, customs, architecture and traditions were Turkic, thus Asian. Yes they controlled Europeans but the ethnically Ottoman/Turk were Asian. If The controlling power is Asian than so is the nation.
