What if they would release the game for pre-order a month later? Would u blame them for releasing it too late as well? No one even knew if the game would be available for pre-order! If it was such an issue for you, u should have delete the game from the library and buy it. I’m sure they would give u another beta access after the issue is taken care of.
Guys just calm down. They are working to solve this issue and until then your complaints really dont do much to speed things up.
Just be patient. Its not like theres a difference between preordering the game now or a week later.
For me it is. I could have bought it the day they announced it. But it was broken and it is still is broken and they don’t give a ■■■■. Now the game will cost me 5 times more. Do you think 5 times the price is not a difference? This could have been avoided if the launch wasn’t so messy
We are currently working on the pre-purchase troubles for beta users and will post in the beta forums once we have a solution. Hang tight!
Currently there is nothing stopping Beta users from buying AoE: DE on Steam. You can purchase the bundle of AoE: DE and AoE II: DE and still get the $5 off AoE: DE. It simply won’t charge you for AoE II: DE at this time as you are not able to pre-purchase it currently.
We are working hard on a solution to this issue and will post updates in the beta forums as we have them.
So we won’t have troubles buying AoE II DE with a discount later on? I’m planning to buy AoE DE tomorrow through bundle and I want to be sure it won’t cause problems later with buying Aoe II: DE.
We are working on solutions and will make sure you get your discount somehow! We don’t want this to affect your ability to play other games that are out. Go forth and play and enjoy!
Nice! You’re awesome guys!
Since the remaining issues should only impact Beta participants, I’ve started a new thread in the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Beta forums. We’ll keep the top post updated and provide any additional updates (as they become available) in that thread:
Thanks for your patience, everyone!
the delay in answer risked my ability to ask for a refund, 12 days have passed, and steam gives a maximum of 14 days for refunds.
Would liked a quicker answer, because it was not customers fault this problem.
I need my key again, I deleted it to buy the game with discount
Me too can’t pre-purchase the game because I am in the beta. Is there a way to fix this? How can I pre-purchase? Thanks.
I think there is a way to buy a DLC called AOE2 DE for beta owners.
Did you try and opt-out of BETA in the properties area of the application in your Steam library? Try that if not and see if the purchase can be made available then.
We do not recommend leaving or deleting your beta key as we can not promise we can give another one.
What DLC is listed on your beta currently? Let us know.
Ah okay, my bad. Hope you guys have a solution soon.
Did you get it to work?
It wont even let me near those forums and I’m in it
