Put your opinion about the Spanish rework here - PUP April Update

This is a better idea for the soldados, even mexico can’t train them from haciendas and it’s a mexican unit. The rate needs a considerable nerf too considering they shadowtech. Homestead wagons should also respect the build limit of 2 haciendas.

It’s too early to comment, you can’t tell if something is broken when the PUP hasn’t come out no matter how much experience you have.

As @Konahrik1140 has said, it may be that future reworks of other civs countermechanics that Spain will now have.

It is difficult for me to explain myself in English. I mean that for example the English, make houses in exchange for villagers and population for a little more wood but then they have cards that the houses cost less and wood bonuses apart from the great economy they have. So it does not penalize them that the houses cost more wood, which is the same thing that happens with the corselet and the new card. I think it is not relevant.

Spain needs corselet and the peninsular guerrila to enhance range units, which is the only civ that does not have improvements of that type.

Spain is the best to send letters yes, but every time you need more letters to be competent.
And if you get a map without tp?

And in team games you do need a strong ranged unit.

Spain has never had anything to offer as a team, we will see how it impacts the cards of the cannons.

The individual 2 cannons card is not broke. I see no exaggeration that 1 team cannon costs only 200c.

In 3vs3 is good, in 4vs4 is really strong.

But I agree, Spain needed a good team cards.

I like these new military team shipments, it matches the aggressive style of the civ.

Haciendas would be fine without a limit if they’re separated from Soldados.

It could maybe be made into a double card. The first time it could send a Hacienda and Soldados and enable them at Forts. The second time it could send a Hacienda and Soldados and grant their upgrades.

Maybe but I think they should remain mainly for mexico, allowing spain to have 2 is fine.

In today’s PUP update, Unction is moved back to Age2 without effect reverting, can any dev explain why this happen?

I guess its because unction in Age 1 was giving the spain player an extra card of choice in Age 2, which would make Spain very powerful in Age 2.

I think it is a great nerf to Spain as missionary aura has been nerfed badly

Spain still very powerful early game imo…

Are there other team cards with scaling costs ? I feels weird to me.

Team 1 Falconet (200c) sounds fine if you compare it to the chinese hand mortars:

  • 2 falconets (200w + 800c) and Team 1 falconet (100w/player + 400c/player - 200c)
  • 7 hand mortars (350f + 630w) and Team 4 mortars (200f/player + 360w/player)
If the Team 1 falconet is that much stronger, we can make it cost 250c or 300c, but I think it is fine giving a few power cards to the spanish. Every civ has some.

Wow, I thought they changed it to age 1 because in age 2 there are many cards and there is no room in the deck

I think we are all overlooking the fact that the haciendas will skew economy in favor of Spain. They still get 99 villagers, plus livestock on haciendas. This actually grants them an edge against most civs that are balanced around 99 vils and 2 factories.

Yes that is a problem. I actually think the card should give mills/estates a limit as well.
