[Request] Infinite Queue Feature

It is a long time (ca. 10 years) since I played Rise of nations last time. What do you mean with tail. I don’t understand.

Enable an infinite production of of a unit that continues until the necessary resources run out. So you don’t always have to select the building and manually click the desired units

I think this is a good time for this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q879j3ydfw8&feature=youtu.be

In the end we just let the AI play the game, we can only look at the game. No thanks.

Infinite Queue does not involve any AI. Play Rise of Nations you will understand.

Nothing to say? Trolling?

I got tired of all auto everything suggestions. In the end you dont play the game anymore, but the computer is playing for you. So it is the AI who plays the game.

So you will write anything? Any nonsense?

How does this involve AI?

If everything is replaced by auto features, you basicly have build an AI.

This thread is not asking to replace everything with AI.

While true we’ve seen an increase in people asking for automation of the game lately.

Here is a poll about auto-queue with very clear result. I am neutral btw, but this result is clear.

People simply don’t understand the meaning of infinite-queue, first they started calling it auto-queue, then auto-everything, then AI controlling everything…they are changing the meaning of the thread.

This is just one of many suggestions to auto-something. In this case auto-queue. If you grab all these suggestion together, you will end up with auto-everything, which is kinda just a AI playing the game. I dont think more auto-something features will be good for the game.

see you are still caling it auto queue, the name itself is misleading

auto scout involves AI, but not this feature.

Idk, but auto queue seems to be a much better name than infinite queue.

This is a quote from your own source. Automatically a new unit will queued, as long as you have the resources and population limit allows it. The name auto queue fits for me better than infinite queue.

For me this idea is just one of the list of auto somethings. Auto villager, auto repair, auto queue, … In the end you end up with auto everything.

yeah it is similar to the togglable farm seeding feature added into DE only slightly lesses, if resources are not enough the toggle is turned off and units are no longer created infinitely.

It is just a quality of life feature, you no longer need to stack up resources for 15 units each time in the buildings. Visit the building again and again to stack up more units. Once it is toggled on units are created infinitely until resources are available. It is not something turned on/off automatically, you need to take care of it. Your resources may dry off if you forgot to turn off the infinite queue. So normal 15 unit queuing is still important to use in early games. Now tell me where is the AI involved in it?

Also if necessary this infinite queue feature can be limited just to military buildings and not town center (so that villagers cannot be infinite queued), since click-fest of military buildings to stack up units again and again occurs only in late game.

If you don’t understand why this feature is bad for the game, then you just don’t understand the game. Everyone understands what you mean by infinite queue. Its auto queue.

A core micromanagement skill is being able to produce units while micromanaging your units. If you can’t get good at that then, then, well, get gud.

Use hotkeys.

Don’t ask for features to level the skill cap of this game. The reason this game is so good because of the skill cap and variety.

A bit of respect please, you are talking to one of the guys most involved with balance advises to devs, not an ordinary troll.

How about just accepting that this idea doesn’t have too much fans and not people are idiots or forum isn’t the majority type of logic?

a while command has the nature of an AI in this situation.
