I wish you would stop talking about auto scouting as if it’s not going to be improved A LOT. Scout running into Tcs and getting a disadvantage because you were daydreaming is going to become an argument for not manually scouting in the future, auto laming and whatnot. Barbarian vs barbarian soon
No, because it has been explicitely stated that it was designed to remain inferior to manual scouting, and thus people being disadvantaged by using it IS 100% intended and going to remain that way.
Almost everyone hates manual laming, that can be quite hard. No one will ever want that 11.
I’ll take your word for it
Did someone ask for auto scout? I thought it was purely a dev decision.
we had a thread exactly like this which someone suggested it, about 2-3 weeks before they announce they are adding it. it had the highest views/comments for a while
I also remember auto-scouting being mentioned a while ago. Not sure when, but it was last year for sure.
It’s funny how people say you should go back to WK/HD if you don’t want automation yet keep suggesting things from the game Rise of Nations to be implemented into DE2. Like, why don’t you go back to, I don’t know, Rise of Nations? Mind boggling…
They will always find the way to keep on pushing towards noob automation. Why? Because for them, the only matters is the fight. “Useless APM” shouldn’t be a concern in this game, so they can focus in “important aspects”. I wonder who they are to say what’s important or not in this game? They clearly don’t understand the complexity of AOE2.
It’s because you want the game to be competitive (which doesn’t require graphics, e.g. small trees, grids etc). We want the game to be fun with all modern features (with the better graphics that DE provides)
No, there is complexity, and there is micro-chores. Going back and forth to the town center is a micro-chore.
Setting up a balanced economy, making sure you aren’t being raided, making sure your buildings are hidden or block views searching for sheep and boar and other resources, those are all legit uses of time and effort that have nothing to do with battles.
Clicking to build more villagers. That’s a micro-chore. For micro nerds.
Sorry, I have a full time job, I don’t want to do more chores.
Who you are to stop people from requesting new features for AoE2?
I was expecting some reply like this one.
So who gave you the authority to troll like this?
People who have only been playing for 2 weeks and will keep playing for 2 more months shouldn’t request new features from Aoe and be successful. I don’t think a player that has 10+ years behind is going to take on lightly gamechanging features and balances implemented by beginners.
I have been playing since 1999. I want it. Does that count?
Or does that not work with you gate keeping?
What made you think I played for such a small amount of time?
You don’t even know me.
Because if you love the game, you don’t jump around requesting changes .
Why should everybody think from your perspective?
I don’t know. My wife loves me, but she is worried about my weight and asks me join her for yoga.
Loving something and improving something can very much go hand in hand.
I want a fun game I can play with my friends. Most of them are turned off by Age of Empires, and prefer to play Company of Heroes or Rise of Nations, because the IU and features are more intuitive and less micro management. So, we end up playing that instead.
Things like auto reseeding makes a big difference, but AQ for villagers would probably bring them back.
And all of them played AoE 2 when it first came out.
When you started and how much serious you’ve played are different things
