I made 3
Just for u :3

Very constructive, thanks bro, I knew I could count on you.
(I mean, you got 1 thing right, I didn’t make anticav)

Other than that, I tried to play it safely, I hadn’t played Russia in a while, so my eco suffered from it, I’ll have to try again.

Also, why the hate on the frigate? It’s a water map.
Sure, the dude didn’t have fishing boats, and I couldn’t scout ahead for them, but as I was running out of useful cards in age 3, I switched to a super raid with the frigate + Oprichnick, some 30 settlers killed I think (Too little too late tho).

Still, one trick for the books (It uses just the 1 slot).

I liked it, only 1 went down in a Gatling push, the rest supported the siege defenders and protected settlers, he had to push with artillery.
Aged with the logistician, so as I expanded, I also got population :man_shrugging:

I couldn’t posibly win against “mr.OG-Hunter”, he seems to know his “fecal matter”, so just let him have this.

But fine, If Hunter is willing, I could give it a shot.

  • First to 3 wins
  • Russia mirror
  • Competitive maps
  • Supremacy 1v1

Maybe coordinate through here? → I host a game with your name, we modify our decks, and start.
Not sure about time zones however, If I say it’s 23:30 here in Chile :chile: , what time is it there??
(Is my English ok? I feel like I’m still a step behind on “phrases”)

Why didn’t you like my criticism? Perhaps my tone was inappropriate, but the content was absolutely adequate.

I recorded the game especially for you (I’ve never done this before). So I also want to get your opinion. And yes, there was one problem: you only need to download the file that is there now. The previous one is completely different.

We need to choose one time zone and align ourselves with it.
Although I don’t really want to play 3 games. In the first one everything will be clear.

Treaty is my favorite mode and Russia is one of my favorite civs.

I completely disagree from you: Russia is one of the bests (if not the best) civs for map control.

Instant infantry training, good grenadiers, and the ability to spam Forts makes them really strong on map control and gaining space.

Use Blockhouses for map control and line of sight, and push towards the enemy with Forts (you don’t need all the 3 Fort cards but 1 and the Sevastopol card together with Pjotr’s Toy Soldiers card, that way you can build 2 Forts with each taking 10 or 15s to build, can’t remember exactly. Add the Improved Buildings card if you want and you get even more tougher Forts).

I’m not a big fan of Rekruts too, I like more the Poruchik + Grenadier composition to push a enemy base, but you only need 8 Rekruts to do the Fort spam so you barely use them.

Russia is in a good spot for treaty (I would say that it even needs a nerf on that Sevastopol effect on Forts built using Rekruts).

Thank you Juan (Wait, “Juan”, Is that why your english looks so weird?? Took me long enough).
Anyway, thanks for sending the recording, honestly, not sure why you were complaining with Russia’s design, you clearly played it as you were supposed to, I see you above 1100 ELO, you just have to keep playing supremacy.

And don’t blame the map, that’s just petty.

:arrow_forward: As for an analysis:

“Actual guy” - ELO 1011 - China
“Juan the hunter” - ELO 882 - Russia

:clock1: First age up:

Russia with logistician - 4:26 (You had a balance between houses & upgraded blockhouses)
China with summer palace - 5:00 (Left it on Chu-ko-nu + Steppe R)

:coin: Economy:

Both had a good and similar economy, settler count not too far from each other and both using natural resources first.

But China loses here since they panic too hard against raiders (All settlers seeking refuge), and most of all, because they had a huge stockpile Idle for way too long. At 1 point, right before age up, Russia also had a big stockpile of unused gold, try to avoid that.

One thing both could try more, is herding hunts closer to their bases.
But good on Russia, little idle time :+1:

:flower_playing_cards: Card decks:

China has a normal deck for a 1v1 on land.

Not sure if you didn’t plan ahead (Russia), but your “1v1 land” deck has WAY too many cards in age 1, with most being upgrades instead of reinforcements, that leaves you defenseless against early pressure and booming from the enemy.
A better balance between upgrades and reinforcements is advised (The 2 cannons in age 3 are a must).

:person_fencing: Battles:

Both could improve, many times, you both engaged in fights that you shouldn’t.

China sometimes left military units idle in fights, had issues retreating slowly, and didn’t chase retreating enemies.
Russia massed 1 unit type a bit too much, and forgot to make anti cavalry, but retreated and engaged properly, a little more micro could reduce overkill tho.

End

Over all, you did good mate, keep it up.

Oh, you are online, we can go in half an hour if you wish.
Fine, we can start with 1 match.

Oops, I think I watched the previous one… didn’t see the correction.

I completely agree with you that Russia is incredibly strong in the treaty.

Because everything here is based on short point. You barely touch anything and it becomes impossible to play on it like a Dutch one.
Regarding the fort play: the point of you building forts with musketeers is that they are always at hand, and not because you use them as vils. it’s like with the Janissaries, who build all the military buildings, or the sentinels, who build outposts, where they can build and take aura. That’s why I started the conversation with the fact that this is a mistake. Russia has outpost cards but no outpost play. There is a fort play, but there are no crads for forts.

Grenadiers, in my opinion, are absolutely useless against all units except cassadors and strelets. This is because they cost 2 pop.

Judging because you say everything is fine. There were simply technical difficulties.

Definitely not today, I have a meeting.

Judging? I just said I watched the wrong one (Which I didn’t, I downloaded it again).

Ok, I can tomorrow after sunset, what time you have there right now? (Mine is 00:45)

English is not my native language.

You watched the right game.

Very vague. I don’t know when your sunset is, But I realized the time difference.

If we assume that your sunset was 3 hours ago, it will be very difficult to meet. A new day has already begun for me.

(I assume everyone else can hit “translate” on this message, right?)

I agree that my noob deck is not optimal enough, but 70% of the time I get stuck on age 2 fight. There is no way to rise because the enemy continues to arrive endlessly, and the cards are piling up.

So it’s a hybrid deck. As for the supply of units, I had them all and gradually replaced them with upgrades because I simply didn’t use them. You’re right about them helping to fight off rushes. I just saw this in China. But I don’t see a single card from Russia at age 2 that would be strong enough to spend a slot on. Halberdiers are trash, you can take 4 Cossacks, but who will they fight with? With other hussars? Musketeers and horse archers are only at the age of 3, I would certainly take them. At the third age, two cannons, as you may have noticed, would not have helped me in any way. It might be worth taking horse archers, but the economic upgrade is more expensive for me. As for the cannos, if the fight goes to age 3, I want culverins, not falconets. And besides, since the Russian economy of age 3, supply of units is not needed at all. You might have noticed that the problems were with the population, and not with the shortcomings of the troops.

What’s wrong with my name LOL! Although perhaps my experiments led me somewhere in the wrong place.

And this is also not my language.

I’ve never used Direct. I can’t even imagine how to do this. However, it is better to set a day after your tomorrow.
All day today, after my meeting and sleepless night, I will only play with noobs.

Good point, I’ll make some changes.

Nothing  , I just thought you were from latin america as well, or Spain (Since your english isn’t advanced), guess you just like the name (Unless you are a Juan outside of latin america, that would be unusual).

Oh, well, english will do.

Alright, right now is your morning and my nighttime of 28/may.
You are unavailable for the day and I’m falling asleep so it can’t be today.

We could fight on your morning and my nighttime of 29/may (Maybe 2 hours earlier than right now) (Unless you are busy too, when are you free?).

Im a big fan of Cortez

Many people think my proposals are too radical. And they are scared. (But I still haven’t heard the answer to why 14 blockhouses will make Russia stronger. The fact that they produce an army quickly is not an argument. Firstly, Russia already does this, and it spits out grenadiers from all infinite foundries with the same speed. Secondly, what is it that only Russia produces quickly?) , so I decided to propose something more compromise and more specific. We have a useless age 3 card.
Russian_Home_City_3_(Detinets)
Detinets Ships 2 Blockhouse Wagons; Blockhouses get +25% hit points

As usual, no one uses it. We can change it to:
Russian_Home_City_3_(Detinets)
Detinets Ships 2 Blockhouse Wagons; Blockhouse build limit +2

And even better:
Russian_Home_City_3_(Barracks_Hitpoints)
TEAM Detinets Ships 2 Blockhouse Wagons; Blockhouse build limit +2

Fast built defensive buildings with the Sevastopol card. Can build up to 3 Forts with Rekruts with all the Fort cards and Pjotr’s Toy Soldiers card. If you add 14 Blockhouse build limit with cards that can instantly make some infantry with cards and could also make Falconets and Mortars with Blockhouse Cannon card while supporting population of 15 (without The Logistician age up) when fully upgraded and then have cards that boost their HP and also have a max pop limit of 210 would be crazy strong defense for Russia.

Against US you should have used a lot more cavalry in the early game. You built your stable a bit too late. If you watch the replay, you first attack would have taken him out had you had more cossaks.
Hunting dogs should come earlier as well, your switch to wood was done too early, you should have stayed a few more seconds to get a new batch of vils after you age up.

For sneak attacks, nothing outperforms petards. On that map I would have dropped petards.

Except it totally is an argument.

Out of one blockhouse you can produce 50 Musketeers faster than, say Brits, can produce 50 Musketeers out of 10 barracks.

You build blockhouses around the map and can spawn armies anywhere. Someone pushing your base? 50 musks. Need to push at a new location? Build one side blockhouse and you’re pushing a new spot with 50 musks and the enemy must either delete and rebuild their army in a new location or must run across the map (which also encourages mass walling because without walls you just die to that kind of push because your whole army is far away and you can’t produce enough units in the new location fast enough.

Instant infantry in like 10 locations (7 BH and 3 forts) is already great. You shouldn’t need instant armies able to spawn in like 17 locations. It gets hard to break BHs as it is, or to push fortified locations that spawn armies anyway… Maybe you could get away with a small increase (like say plus 2-3) but it definitely shouldn’t be more than that and I’m not even sure an increase is needed.

I did not propose to change Logistician. So I won’t count this as a card. What you listed will cost 10/25 of the available slots. +11 economic cards 21/25. And we only have 4 cards left for improving ALL soldiers, an ######## # ###### school, a church and everything else that I forgot.

[

That’s exactly what I wanted to say. Nothing will change. I just don’t want to be forced to play musketeers.
