I hope will just focus on improving the lobby System, making the game smoother and pathing better instead of adding another 2-3 dlcs to milk the community.
I do not remember where I read it but apparently for Aoe DE will not release any expansion

Exactly as the title says: Do you want new expansions for AoE DE and, if so, what would you like to see added?I personally would like to see new expansions for AoE1. At the moment, the game covers the Mediterranean, Mesopotamia, and to some degree East Asia. So, Iād like to see continental Europe (Celts, maybe Germans?) and South-East Asia to be represented in a new expansion. I donāt think we know enough about Sub-Saharan Africa or the New World at that time to add any civs from there. Correct me if Iām wrong.
One thing thatās always bugged me is the fauna. Itās distinctly African (elephants, gazelles) even though the game isnāt set just in Africa. There should be new terrains (snow, swamp, rainforest, ā¦) and new fauna suitable for continental Europe, as well as South-East and East Asia (deer, wolves, aurochsen?, wisents?, tigers, ā¦).
So, what do you think?
I wouldāve liked this to be a poll, but apparently you canāt make polls in this sub-forum.
New civilizations?
Certainly Indians, Iberians, Celts and Scythians.
These are most missing.
Would be funn with new campaigns. New trash units.
Also i dont get people who say AOE DE will become a aoe2 clone if reseeding farms gets added or mule carts and buying stuff from the market. They are all good features.
I want AOE 2 HD first. I would absolutely not want a delay in that game in exchange for an expansion for AOE 1 DE.
With that said, assuming an AOE 1 expansion did not eat into AOE 2 DEās release, yes, an expansion would be cool. As Iāve said in another thread, Iād be pretty keen on seeing the Mauryan Empire of India, as the setting does lend itself to featuring them.

Obviously, expansion would depend on how many people buy DE. I donāt see it happening at the moment but on the other hand an expansion would take significantly less resources than DE version so who knows.
As for Mauryan Empire, the problem is that they would need to design architecture just for that civ, and I donāt think thatās going to happen. I see more point in adding ancient Vietnamese (under whichever historical name/dynasty). Their civ would not need a new architecture because the current Asian one can be used.
Other relevant civs would be Celts and Illyrians, and both can use the same (new) architecture. Along with them, any number of other civs from similar geographical area can be added, using that architecture.

Actually, itās when the new AoE II HD expansions were released that the game got completely broken, and itās only been going downhill since. Hence why they should focus on fixing already existing content before releasing new one.
Isnāt that one of the most played games on Steam?
I expect there might be unofficial mods for this game

Well, there are mods for the original version of AoE. And there are still more being developed.
The problem with DE is that you canāt access or modify the relevant game files by default, so there is no real way for substantial modding or custom assets at the moment. Unless they add support for data mods in future patches, modding will be at least complicated.

Oh yes, believe me, once they unlock all that stuff, Iām gonna get to work on the ai files. Get them to 100+ pop so I can play bigger games. I do hope the genie editor will work on DE one day
The game is probably for the most part the same in terms of files used, only that itās locked behind the windows apps thing. Iāve no idea how youād actually open those files as theyāre still locked if you move them, and it wonāt allow you to paste things back in, even if itās a file you just removedā¦ Lol
fix AI first of all, it su cks. Then I probably going to add an upgrade to the camel rider for the Iron Age. And another for the Composite Bowman also in Iron Age. The āImproved bowmanā should be that, an improvement of the normal bowman (Is the most useless unit in the game). Also the game needs clearly a new expansion with new civs. Demo campaigns were worse in the DE version such as the Reign of Hittites, they add nothing about new campaigns.
I can understand right now that those efforts is being focused in AoE2. But anyway, AoE1 DE is broken and the AI su cks as heck. That should be a priority.
You should also add LAN multiplayer option, that would make the game have a long-term life.
Been there, done that, I have actually added 24 new civilizations to Age of Empires 1.
I think the Celts,Picts, germanic or some tribal civ and The Indus River Vally Civilization should be added as there is no celtic/germanic civ and the Indus Civilization played a big role in history. Also fixing the AI is a good idea
Nice, well done
I think they should fix all the issues and bugs at hand first, and then start thinking about adding new civilizations.
Excellent suggestions. The Etruscans would be cool too.
Never seen anyone mention the Jews (i.e. kingdom of Israel)
Hebrews, Armenians, Nubians, India, Britons, Germans, Iberians, Gauls, Scythians
Civilizations I would like to see for the future and would list their architecture group
Asia:
Vietnamese
Egyptian: Note Sumerians and Assyrians would be moved to the Mesopotamian architecture which they rightfully belong to
Aksum (Ancient Ethopia)
Cush (Ancient Nubia)
Levant Note Hittites and Phoenicians will be moved to this architecture group
Armenians
Nabataeans
Himyarites
North African Note Carthaginians will be moved to this architecture group
Mauritanians
Tartessos
Indian: Note Funan are actually in Southeast Asia east of India
Chola
Maryuans
Funan
Harappan
North European
Celts
Seubi (Ancient Germans)
Dacians
Steppe Nomads:
Scythians
Yuezhi
Xiongnu
Xianbei
